This plays a huge role in my own productivity personally because there are times when you are ready to do some work but then the absence of light would hinder you.
It could prevent me from using a gadget or limit my use of a gadget like laptop or smartphone.
It could also make me uncomfortable because of the heat and without light, the heat is usually unbearable.
Currently, I use a prepaid meter which is pay as you use but then light is not constant which is very annoying.
I am willing to pay enough to cater for my needs but then I don't even see the light to enjoy.
As a result, a one month plan would now last me for two months or even 2 months plus. While I miss out on some activities just because I don't have light.
The place I used to stay at before now used direct light with an estimated bill system.
At the end of every month, they would bring outrageous bills considering the paucity of light.
It was very annoying and if you refuse to pay, they disconnect your apartment and then put you in permanent darkness which you now need to pay to reconnect and also settle your outstanding bills.
The electricity problem in Nigeria is a very big problem that needs to be taken very seriously.
A few weeks ago, one of the pioneer hospitals in Nigeria had the workers protesting because of 100 days of total blackout. That's 3 months plus I.
Not just that, patients had to go home and bring generators and solar panels inorder to continue receiving treatment. It was that bad.
After the outrage and protest, promises began to fly in and it seemed like the matter would be resolved very fast. I hope it is resolved soon and that the solution is long lasting.
Schools don't have light. Where I schooled, we always encountered power outage at least once a semester and it always coincided with exam periods.
While I was there, we had a gen that would be switched on for four hours to compensate for the lack of light but after I left, I heard that the big generators got spoilt and as such the students would go for days or even weeks before light would be restored.
Now, what do you expect from a doctor who doesn't have light in the hospital? Almost all the tests require electricity.
What about the student who is studying in a blackout? Would they use candles or lanterns to study? How will their performance be after facing such challenges. What about the time and stress required to go elsewhere in an uncomfortable environment just to get the devices charged up?
We need to do better in many sectors of our economy including the power sector.
There's currently a Powerbank pandemic because of the electricity challenges. People be selling power banks at the former price of motorcycles. Very sad situation as people have no choice but to buy it and hope it serves them well
Personally, I plan to get solar installed in my place whenever I get the money so that I can run away from the various problems of electricity in my country.

The photos are giving me a mini heart attack. Unfortunately, the governments of countries like ours don't care about our lives and basic needs.
The power supply problem can be solved or at least upgradable in under 5 years but nobody cares.
Irrelevant, but can you give me a link where I can mark down my texts as you did at the end of your post?
Thank you.
It's actually a solvable problem just that they are not willing.
It's not irrelevant. Use the link below, there's a lot in it.

Thank you for the link. I will look it up.
It is really sad to hear about the electricity problems in your country. However, in our country, this problem is somewhat less. However, I hope that the government of your country will try to resolve this problem very soon.
It's really sad. Hopefully they resolve it. I really hope.
