One of the worst things that can ever happen to any human being is being stranded in a public transportation vehicle. Although, some public transport offers comfort and an easy journey for their passengers but often times comfortability is a treasure that you do not find often and this is so because these days, due to Greed and selflessness of these drivers they tend to overload their vehicles with human beings and with luggage's, so as to make more money than the normal vehicles can carry.
This is very common in all parts of Nigeria, a vehicle that is supposed to contain 10 to 15 passengers is reconstructed to contain 18 to 20 passengers. Again, another method these greedy drivers make money is by accepting heavily loaded way- bills which would inturn inconvenience their passengers but they don't care at all. All these are factors that contribute to vehicle breakdown especially in unsafe places and in areas where you have no knowledge about.
Being stranded in a strange place can be frustrating and at the same time stressful because you do not know what to do at that moment and all you wish for is to be back on the road and get you destination. Broken vehicles in unknown areas are very common and I think I have been a victim of this occurrence twice or thrice now.
There was one time it was so scary because we were near the river and the road was so lonely. There are different courses of vehicle breakdowns and some of these may include flat tires, leakage of engine oil, overheating, lack of fuel, electrical failures, engine failure and so on. Often times, the result of a broken vehicle in the middle of nowhere is because the driver did not do a thorough service or check up on his vehicle bewith taking off.
One time, we were traveling to Delta state for a church program and we were 80% of women and 20% of men. It was a smooth journey at first and everybody was exciting and glad that we were going to have a personal and spirit filled time with their creator. After about 3 or 4 hours into the journey, we were almost at our destination as we had just an hour or two left then something happened but before then we had noticed that the vehicle or the bus was making a kind of noise and somehow we could feel heat from inside the motor. when we complained to the driver, he did some things by pouring water into something and so on but that didn't help. On getting to this point, that was when the overheating became unbearable and the bus came to an abrupt stop.
It was a scary moment because of how the bus was jerking and swerving on the express road before the driver was able to move to the side. There were no houses in sight and the area consisted only of thick forests that made the whole thing stressful and really frustrating, it was worrying considering the fact that any attack could take place like armed robbery, killing or kidnapping. We had no choice but to stand under the hot sun till the driver managed to start it up again.

When it comes to some Nigerian drivers and putting the welfare of their passengers in consideration? F-9!
Anything goes, they don't care, you just have to deal with whatever the outcome is.
You are so right and while some people are lucky, some are not
We have all had our bad experiences with public transport, and we wish we can just avoid it but we can't.
Yeah and it's so sad

Yeah, just last year October, it happened to me at Benin Ore road. It was only God that saved us that day. Our driver's fan belt cut, the motor was also running very slowly. We finally slept in the pack at Onitsha
