I have never personally experienced a natural disaster, but I know how devastating they can be—especially from the news. Before now, I never really paid much attention to wildfires, but that changed when I heard about the recent one in California. That was when it really hit me just how serious they are. I learned that they mostly happen in dry conditions and can be caused by human actions—sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose. It’s crazy to think that something as small as a spark can turn into a full-blown disaster.
I haven’t been in a wildfire myself, but something happened recently at my school that made me think about one. I wasn’t there when it started, but my friends who saw everything filled me in, and later, I saw the aftermath with my own eyes.
It all started when some people on the farm were clearing bushes to create more space for planting. After cutting down the dried grass and weeds, they decided to burn them, which is a common practice. At first, everything was fine—the fire was under control, burning just the pile they had set. But then, things took a turn for the worse.
Apparently, the wind was really strong that day. It carried the flames beyond where they were supposed to be, and before anyone realized what was happening, the fire had spread. It reached the pastures where the cattle were supposed to graze, burning everything in its path. At that point, the people who started it had completely lost control.
They tried to put it out, but it was already too big. The heat alone made it impossible to get close, and the flames kept growing. Some people panicked, running around trying to figure out what to do, but there wasn’t much they could do.
What made it even scarier was how close the fire was to the girls’ hostel. If it had spread just a little further in that direction… I don’t even want to imagine what could have happened. Just even thinking about it is terrifying.
I honestly don’t know how the fire finally stopped. Maybe the wind changed direction, or maybe it just burned itself out after destroying everything in its way. But later, when I went to see the place, the damage was clear. The entire pasture was gone. The ground was black and covered in ash, and you could tell just by looking at it that something serious had happened.
Hearing about it was one thing, but seeing the aftermath made me realize just how dangerous fire can be. It’s crazy how something that started so small ended up causing so much destruction. That experience alone was enough to make me respect fire a whole lot more. We were actually very lucky that day—it could have been a real disaster. I don’t think anyone at my school will ever take setting fire lightly again, especially during the dry season.

Things like this are commonly seen in the rural areas where the do big farms close to the living areas.
Thank God it didn't burn the hostel
During dry seasons we always have too much fire outbreak because everywhere is dry that is why we should be careful during this season i am glad it didn’t affect her house. Thank you for coming around
