Sleep Unscripted: Getting Real About Quatity, Quality And Obstacles

During my time in service, I came across a fellow who would take every little chance she gets to sleep and not just some light or quick sleep, she sleeps so deep and comfortable until anytime you'd wake her up. The only reason I noticed and admire that about her is because I'm the opposite. I'm awake while others are taking naps.

Well, that was before although not so long ago before I started taking more importance into not just how long I sleep but how well I sleep. I didn't know there's a thing called "sleep quantity" but after learning about this prompt, I've seen the difference and how I've been having sleep of quantity and quality, and I think both go together.

To achieve a good quantity of sleep means "sleeping long enough" at least, using the minimum amount of time adults or children should sleep recommended by health personnel. The longer one sleeps, the better your system rebuilds for future activities. A quick sleep might help you but not as much as a long sleep would.

Like they say, our bodies are no firewoods and so they need good rest to function properly again. I've experienced both when I don't have good rest and when I have a good rest, the productivity is always higher when there was a good rest. People fail to sleep as much as they need to and they tend to fall back in what they have to do.

Having a quality sleep is "how long you sleep and how well you sleep". This is why I say quantity and quality of sleep go hand in hand. I've experienced sleeping for so long hours and woke up feeling sick and even body aches, the quality wasn't there even though I slept long enough. I'll suggest good sleeping positions and exercises.

One of my major obstacles in achieving a good quantity of sleep time is my work online, spending too much time on devices have proven to inhibit sleep and so we have to put a control over our devices to help us increase our sleep time quantity. A very practical activity is intentionally doing away with your mobile phone.

Sleep comes when I'm not doing anything, I also try to not think too much, because of this, I sleep for long enough although not up to the minimum needed by adults. I mean, the world has evolved to a point where too much sleep is a sign of laziness and poverty may hit you right where you sleep for so long lol. Just long enough is enough.

The obstacle in achieving my quality sleep is awkward sleeping positions and lack of exercises. Since I took my exercises serious and become intentional of my sleeping positions, I've been sleeping well enough, my body feels very energetic and I get to do what I have to do daily without feeling too tired until my next nap. Sleep is important and I remind myself that always.

When I sleep for a shorter time I feel more refreshed than when I sleep for long.

I’m not one to use my devices that much on a normal but I’m still unable to sleep for longer hours even if I have the time to.

You have conditioned your body to not sleep for longer hours this business woman 😅

😂😂I have changed from today.
