The difficult reality I discovered is that not all relationships are meant to last forever, no matter how closely knitted you both are. Remember, change is inevitable! People changes over time and it could be due to several reasons or even an influence and you see them taking the path never envisioned originally.
The change can be sudden and drastic and sometimes takes a toll on your mental health. In this case, taking a walk away seems to be the best move for your sanity. It's very hard to watch someone you love so dearly change into something you can't process. Someone who was once your soul lifter, someone who has been encouraging you and pushing you to become the best version of your life, all of a sudden becomes a thorn in your flesh and now drains your energy completely.
It happens, and I begin to wonder why humans change in such a manner.Personally, I have had a friend change her behavior so badly that I had to leave the friendship for my own good, but today, I choose to share about a close friend of mine whose partner suddenly changed for the worse and gave her every reason to leave the relationship. It is a hard decision to make, but sometimes, it's necessary.
At first, she told herself that it's just a phase, and this too shall pass. She kept consoling herself that people change character sometimes, and she is positive that the man will come around to realize his mistakes. But then, within her, she knows that the connection they once had has diminished; it's now a struggle, and she keeps battling with her emotions, something that was done effortlessly before the issue began. She no longer recognizes the man she is in a relationship with. The man could insult her using her poor family background to mock her; he will deprive her of food, lock up the kitchen, and allow her to starve. He gives her the torture of her life with a heated electric iron over little arguments. Something that should be overlooked became a constant big issue in their relationship. The lady lacked the courage to talk to him because for every statement, she would be punished for expressing herself.
To worsen the situation, the man changed her contact number to a new one where no friends or family could reach her and installed a CCTV camera to watch every one of her movements or discussions at home. As if that wasn't enough, the man started bringing in women into their matrimonial home and asked my friend to sleep on the tiles while the side chick slept on their matrimonial bed. It was the height of his bad behavior and insults given to this lady. This drama lingered for months until my friend found an escape from the man's house to my home one hot afternoon with bruises all over her body. I shed tears listening to such experience from her.She later connected with her family and traveled home, and then she was advised to leave the relationship for her sanity.
It was obvious that the mutual respect was lost; the whole relationship became energy-draining, not to talk about the toxic behaviors in between. To me, these are enough signs to leave a friend or leave a relationship. It could be a hard decision, but sometimes it's necessary for one's happiness.

I think people should also be intentional in choosing people they want to be with. Good times don't always last, sometimes we choose things that only lasts for a while, and close our eyes to potential red flags because of infatuations though.
Exactly..I believe that in one way or the way, there would be red flags but sometimes we choose to overlook it.
Being intentional is the goal
Ah see the way I was shouting no no and no as I read the story of your friend. That was too much. Immediately the relationship became toxic to the point of using hot iron to torture me, then that man should get ready to meet his maker or I leave.
The man should meet his maker got me laughing out loud... lolz

I dust the shoe and ran for my life. He had been begging I refused
Ending or growing apart from a relationship always hurts. No one can prepare us for the pain and grief. It's a hard lesson, we learn, and hopefully never make the mistake again; that's life.
We should even learn from people's mistakes oo.. instead of shutting minds of life experiences that fly around
I've always had the opinion that if a relationship is not beneficial to both parties it's a waste of time
Indeed..it is
