Power supply in my country

The bad state of power supply in my country is one that everyone has gotten tired of complaining and lamenting about. We have resorted to finding our own means of getting power because it's totally impossible to depend on the general power supply, which is very poor. It is so bad that even government houses or the power company’s facilities can't rely on the electricity generated. Let me shock you a little, do you know that no event that is to be televised can't be coordinated with the general power supply? You just need to know that.

Let’s say Nigeria is hosting an international football match at night in a stadium, that stadium can't be powered by the general power supply; otherwise, there's every tendency of experiencing a blackout in the middle of the game. That would be so embarrassing.

This is why almost all homes and companies have gotten their own sources of electricity, which are either a generator or a solar system.

Although there are still some cities that enjoy electricity more often than others, the ones that do not see electricity for a complete 48 hours are much more.

I'm currently living in a city that doesn't get power supply, and it's very frustrating because we pay regularly to get our gadgets charged. Even to power up our appliances, we have to buy fuel to do that.

The worst part is pumping water. We usually don’t see electricity to pump water, so it’s always about buying fuel, and you know, staying in a compound where they need to contribute money every now and then to pump water can be very annoying because problems will arise.

I don't really know if the problem of poor electricity in my country can be solved because it has been like this for a long time. But I think that since the hydroelectric means of generating electricity and distributing it everywhere is not working, we should improvise. Maybe having big and gigantic solar plants in each city that will store power in very large quantities and distribute it to every household in the city could help. This looks like a big task, but it appears doable.

I haven't heard of a big solar plant serving a community, but I think with the level of technology in this era, such things can be achievable.

With this pattern, power supply will be very stable, and the only time challenges will arise is during the rainy season when there won't be enough sun for the plant to work efficiently. Or even if this is not going to work, let the source of electricity be decentralized. Let there be many sources, I mean, water bodies containing dams where electricity can be generated to serve sector by sector instead of one source serving the whole nation.

Thanks!
