In these regular updates we will bring fresh content to Hive, in the form of our game coding experiences; IBT is a developing PC game - the one to have future Crypto interactions.
Time for this this week update; a focus on characters again.
The new tutorial Character
With IBT Island survival the new "Tutorial Only" character can be used for training purposes only which means that any bonuses or buffs that effect the character during gameplay will be removed. The tutorial will be restricted compared to the earlier version too so that the player can get the basic feel of moving a character around without too much drama. A big bonus for using the tutorial character is it's in a sort of sandbox mode so there is no limit to learning how to build shelters and the size of them due to resources being plentiful.
If you go ahead and play the full game, all your buffs and special abilities including downfalls will be readded to the character. (As shown in the image above). I know some people will be like, "Yeah but that's not fair" but the map is a tutorial only segment without a lot of the real dangers that come with normal gameplay. As a bonus, in the past there was only one tutorial map but in the upcoming version there will be several maps to choose from but with various environments and resources.
Playing with more emitters and animations
We've been trying really hard to get birds, (for example crows) to be able to encircle a building that may contain "danger" or a "body" that looks ripe for a good feeding.
So far this is the best we have been able to get but the next hardest thing is to add the textures so it looks like a crow, or even in the future a vulture!
