In these regular updates we will bring fresh content to Hive, in the form of our game coding experiences; IBT is a developing PC game - the one to have future Crypto interactions.
This is a cracker of an update, with a particular good showcase.. well I thought haha. On with today's update.
The books are back
The IBT Island books are back again with their wonderful unlocks. Once certain books are read you can build traps, various furniture, shelters, sterilization equipment, weapons and cooking recipes with native Australian plants. Unfortunately the books are scattered and or hidden around the Island or inland terrain in some cases.
Witchetty Bush
You certainly cannot have a true blue Auzzie game without the Witchetty Grub and Witchetty Bush. The bush is native to certain parts of Australia, (Especially South Australia), and is used to find food in and for keeping those long cold winter nights warm. We had this bush in a pervious demo but it has been remastered and the materials modified and looks amazingly real.
Terrain Testing
We had a really productive day this week with terrain testing. We tested viewing distance, correct mesh sizes for plant life, (not oversized or undersized plant life/materials). This is an actual gif movie of IBT during game play. We are extremely happy that the terrain looks SOOOOO Australian and gives the "I'm down under" feel.
Sorry have to nerf the graphics a bit to make a GIF to work here - but you get the picture.
Probably the best news is we are starting to talk Alpha release date. Which is really about making that choice, no more demo's and time to get out the 'meat' product soon. The idea is to have DL's (Like the hive DL) and provide other free updates etc as we raise the graphics further, introduce more animal etc. Either way, the fact we are even talking alpha date is exiting, even though it won't be soon, but we are talking it.. in other words most bugs done, most code made and replicable. It's a weird feeling of scary and good. The trick is we have to get both games to a point where we can do it. This survival one, where it's a full playable and we can gently release free updates while people play, explore etc. and the IBT Classic to be fully playable at least the first level, and then gradually release the other levels as we go.. anyways very early chats on Alpha release date.... getting exciting!!!
Anyways that's this update done
We have a Discord Channel, if keen for it pop a message here and jump in and drop us a line and help with some testing, else not long until the next update - stay tuned.
Cheers
