I like the idea of increasing the vote window for curation. Because a lot of good content here goes under the radar of curators.
I've personally been experimenting with something to give rewards to good quality content outside the curation window. It works like this:
- I find a great article by Author X from a month ago
- I make an insightful comment on said post
- Author X replies to my comment
- I then upvote Author X's reply with a generous amount.
I think it would be very useful to quantify how much the author makes from upvotes in the comments section. This would be a way a way that authors could potentially earn "royalties" from a valuable post forever.
Hey, that's a great option!
There was another option that I've talked about in the past. The option is to make a comment and set the author as a beneficiary of the rewards.
Then, upvote or self-vote your comment, and the rewards will go to the author. But I like your idea more because that involves more engagement.
Also, what I do is that I upvote a recent post, but if there is one, of course.
Just to test:
Oh! I just tried it. This is a great option too, but it can't be accessed by all frontends. I tried on mobile and it's not possible. It's good to know though, because it's also useful. Thanks!
