RE: An overview of the ‘UNHIDE Hive’ project

Anti abuse appeals, are degrading and inhumane, and use medieval methods, probably someone is going to hate on this comment.

I would like to learn more about this and maybe go through the process myself somehow. I've never heard anything good about the process, but then again there are bound to be a lot of legit abusers who then complain loudly when their appeals are rejected.

Fairness? The group ccordinating anti abuse egfoets is not fair they are biased humans and they behave as such. Power corrupts and this is not good.

Yes, this is why I think there should be at least two groups that coordinate efforts around anti-abuse, so that the punishers are not the same as the reviewers for some cases. Not sure exactly what that looks like, hence these discussions.

About listings on exchanges, those cost money and a bi part of OGs on Hive don‘t want HIVE to be listed on more exchanges…

Hm, do you have evidence to support? A lot of 'failure to do things' on Hive feels more to me like an incredible lack of coordination vs. a shadowy force of very tight coordination.

Nowhere in real market conditions does this ever happen. We actually could take a big chunk of money and start the good old afvertising machine called google, bing, facebook, TIKTOK etc.

100% agree that the funds in the DHF are not being efficiently used. I'm not sure if I'd commit a big spend towards ads before we fixed onboarding and other funnels, but that is certainly part of mix: telling people that we exist!

Check the HIvewatchers Discord on how appeal works... no evidence for the listing thing, just a conspiracy theory....

Gotcha. I've seen the "how" but the feeling and actual process is possibly something else, ya know?

The thing with the conspiracy is... if we got listed, all the big holders on Hive would likely get a LOT richer (exposure = a likely sustained price hike + liquidity = easier to exit larger sums).

Regardless, this isn't the first time I've come across the sentiment, which at minimum points to a base of mistrust that is not super healthy for the ecosystem. And that's worth being concerned about.

I left the HW discord a long time ago so no idea what the current atmosphere is like there but they ask people to make apology posts that feel pretty grovelly and it makes me cringe when I see them 😭

Ngl it feels like thie:

Ooof, like Bart Simpson writing lines or something...

If that's still the case it really needs to be addressed, IMO.
