Everybody has a past, and these pasts are characterized by good, bad, and ugly experiences.
There is always the possibility that sometimes we remember them.
However, remembering the former things or our old experiences have a way of negatively impacting our lives, especially when such experiences are not pleasant.
Therefore, I'm using this means today to remind us of the need to forget about the former things and move on with our lives while looking forward to the greater thing that lies ahead.
He has promised to do a new thing.
Remember
ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it?
I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
Unfortunately, many people only remember their past failures and setbacks, and it only helps break their hearts and injure their confidence and faith in God.
They therefore develop many kinds of fears, including that of failure and disappointment, unknown future, disappointment, etc.
However, the danger of having such fears is that they are anti-progressive and pose as hindrance in our quest to occupy.
They can even lead to backsliding.
Therefore, make up your mind not to remember the former things except it is designed to serve a reflective purpose.
This is to avoid a situation whereby such thought would break us down and ruin our walk and relationship with God.
No matter the ugly experiences you had gone through in the past, they are not worth dwelling except for the purpose of reconciling with God and drawing closer to Him.
Whether you were caught up in the wilderness of life or you found yourself in a dry place like the desert, forget them and look forward to what God is about to do in this present time.
He says He will make a way where there is none and will create rivers of water in a dry place like a desert.
That is to say, no matter how impossible your matter appears, God is going to turn it around for good.
Every thought of my past failures and disappointments still hurting me till today will be banished by JESUS CHRIST.
God, do a new thing in my life according to your promise,
I'm sounding like a pastor today because someone may really need this to build back their life.

Dwelling in the past experiences doesn't make the present any better.
