Surveying some of the leading Libertarian Party, Libertarian, and Anarcho Capitalist accounts on Twitter today, I found very little engage on cryptocurrency and blockchain implementations. I did find Vivek Ramaswamy declaring he would bring up Bitcoin at the next debate. Vivek also sat down with Nic Carter to discuss Ramaswamy's crypto platform.
While cryptocurrency has been given a bad name by the criminal schemes of Sam Bankman Fried at FTX, market volatility, and numerous rug pulls - the promise of crypto currency remains and it is a powerful tool for economic liberty and freedom of speech. Most Americans think of Bitcoin when they think of Crypto, and Bitcoin is certainly the gold standard for crypto, there are many things that other blockchains do substantially better. The text portion of this article for instance is stored in the $HIVE blockchain. Hive is a decentralized blockchain, with community elected validators(witnesses) - this imparts a high degree of censorship resistance - with no single or corporate point of failure.
Vivek's interaction are proof that crypto and block chain enthusiasts are engaged in politics, or willing to engage if a politician talks substance about the issues they care about.
Libertarians should own this space and should be connecting with crypto-enthusiasts. Here I mean Libertarians in the broadest sense (party members, libertarian leaning, Anarcho-Capitalists, Agorists, etc).
