This is awesome, but honestly I don’t think I will fully understand it until it goes live and I can see how this all plays out.
It might be helpful to categorize the different types of users and then break down what the typical user should do when the network goes live to stabilize the network and what the tokenomics look like for that person. For (bad) example, I am assuming the categories would look something like this:
- Validators
- Validators should install X, Y, Z and ask for LARYNX power delegations.
- The top 20-30 validators will earn X tokens as part of …
- those outside the top 20-30 validators will earn X or nothing?
- Validators should buy LARYNX on the open market and power it up?
- Storage Nodes
- Storage nodes should install X, Y, Z
- Once setup, storage nodes will find videos to store where? How do the contracts look to storage nodes.
- Storage nodes should power up LARYNX and keep it for themself? Delegate to Validators?
- Storages nodes will earn X and Y tokens by storing videos and …? LARYNX delegations?
- LARYNX and SPK Holders
- Those who got air dropped LARYNX tokens but don’t want to be validators or storage nodes but do want to be a part of the ecosystem should power up LARYNX and delegate to validators?
- Should people buy LARYNX from the market, power it up and delegator
- These people will earn X and Y tokens, by delegating to validators? Or not really?
- People who want to create contracts to store their videos
- These people should buy liquid? SPK from an internal market and power it up?
- They can create storage contracts by installing X software, or is that not
I have in general followed what has been going on for several years, but I know things have changed as far as the tokenomics and certain features are not ready, like the SIP (or is it?). I think it would be helpful to lay out an abbreviated way that each type of person can contribute on day 1 to help out with overall stability until people have more first hand experience figuring out how this is all going to work.
When you say "service providers", do you mean validators and storage nodes? Delegators?
Stupid question likely, but do LARYNX holders that delegate to validators receive any tokens in return for holding that LARYNX power? That is something I haven’t quite figured out.
Agree with you completely. There's a lot to understand and some clarification along the lines you propose would be welcome.
