Microsoft Needs to Give Up on AI

Just when you think Microsoft can't get any worse, they surprise you. And not in a good way. They remind me of the phrase, "The bar is on the ground, and you brought a shovel."

I normally use Bing Image Creator to come up with images for my posts. After what I just witnessed, I've reconsidering that.

(Created with Bing)

I was going to write about the Secret Santa gift exchange my family and I do for Christmas. So, I typed "Secret Santa" in the search box. These four images were generated. All credit to Microsoft's Bing Image Creator for this mess.

This one seems innocent enough at first. Then you start to notice there are way too many hands everywhere. The eyes aren't right. Wait. And "grandma" is pregnant? Moving on.

Now we have a younger pregnant lady with a mysterious disembodied hand on her belly. And we have an older man in a wheelchair instead of a pregnant grandma? Alrighty then. Next!

Now we have a young girl in a wheelchair. Oh, and look! The woman next to the young girl in a wheelchair is... pregnant! But, wait! Not to be outdone, we have yet another disembodied hand in the bottom right corner. Good grief, Microsoft!

And this last image is where I gave up on my original post idea and wrote this because of the absurdity. Creepy eyes, and a pregnant old man in a wheelchair. No disembodied hand, but does that really matter when you see how gnarly his right hand is?

Talk about absurdity, lack of originality and just plain creepy! Microsoft certainly has outdone themselves. The bar was on the ground, they brought a shovel, and they dug their way to China. Ironically, the only thing they got right was the featured image for this post. 🤦‍♂️
