Golem Overlord is a New Fun Idle Game on Hive

I just started playing Golem Overlord a few days ago. Right now it costs 30 Swap.hive to begin playing. I believe that number will increase over time but I am not sure when/ how much.

This is the first game of this type that I have played. I mean I tried to play Splinterlands a couple of years ago but kept getting matched with people 500% +above my stats and couldn't get the hang of it. This game is not quite the same but there is a big PVP/ battle element.

I am by no means an expert in this game but I will share what I plan to do with my accounts. After playing for a day I decided to open a second account so I could play around with different set ups. My main account will be mostly defense /scavenging income oriented while my alt will concentrate on offense/ battles.
I also intend to use my alt as an experiment with different strategies and it will likely become more balanced over time.

Multiple accounts are allowed. I will stick with these two for now as I don't see a reason right now to open another.

In a nutshell the object of the game is to collect PART- the main in game currency. You can do so by scavenging (this is an idle game so no activity required to do this) or through battles. There are other game mechanics set to come out in the future but for now I will talk abut what you can do right now.

Players can increase their stats by burning PART. You can win PART in battles or lose PART when others attack you. You lose a small amount if you attack someone and lose.

I suggest that even if you want to concentrate on power (offense) that you increase your fortification (defense) stats right away or else others will constantly be stealing your stash.

When you begin the game you will receive 3 PART. Be sure to claim this within an hour of playing or others will steal it. You have one hour of protection against attacks (unless you claim) This is enough to put one in power and one in fortification. You can save the left over PART for future use or put it in another stat.

At first as you level up fortification people will be stealing from you all the time. You can always battle a few people right before you claim in hopes you will get some lost funds back.

Once I achieved level 3 fortification and 2 faith people have mostly stopped attacking me. I am not sure how long this will last but it is allowing me to save most of my stash as long as I claim every 8 hours.

The total I spent was 60 swap. hive and I have already received 12.5 back from trading my extra PART. I estimate I will reach break even point in 7 days or less. From there I will be in profit.

Right now it's a balancing game of how much PART to trade and how much to put back into the game. In games like this I always concentrate on getting my seed funds out before putting all profits back in. I try to put 75% or more back in the game and cash out the rest. If you put less than 75% of you claims back into the game then you will start to earn less.

Right now my two accounts are mostly identical stat wise but once my alt has fortification at level 4 I will start concentrating on building power.

In my main account I really want to increase my scavenge income here and protect against attacks. I will battle occasionally but that's not my concentration on my main account at the moment. My alt will be my "battle bot" at least for now.

With the 75% rule in game sometimes it can be tricky to just concentrate on one stat if you have withdrawn funds. You may need to stake some PART or upgrade a stat that is the least expensive while you "save up" for the next upgrade- or else your earnings will be reduced.

Regardless of your build over time you will want to build your power up to 10 to increase your holding limit (also adds more energy at certain levels)and also build up algo/golem charging to lessen the stat penalties this will also increase your income).

I can't recommend fortification enough especially when you first start.
