Welcome to the Golem Overlord Module Guide!

This guide series aims to introduce you to the features and mechanics of modules and crafting in Golem Overlord. This is the tenth post of the series and explains how the Apex Mark works, including instructions on a secret way to get an additional big stat on Omega and Quantum Amplifiers.

Suggested Reading

If you are unfamiliar with the basics of modules, the Pyrite Forge, Forge Sigils, and crafting I recommend reading the previous posts in this series before reading this post.

The Golem Overlord Module Guide Curated Collection has links to all related posts in this guide. You can view it as a curated collection or as a post. I will continue adding posts to the collection as they are published.

Introducing the New Apex Mark Forge Sigil

The final airdrop for Yixn's Trinkets, the Apex Mark, has been released. They can be obtained from the airdrop page and are now available when opening Yixn's Trinkets crates.

Apex Mark Explanation

The Apex Mark is likely the second-best Forge Sigil currently available aside from Yixn's hair. It is used to upgrade the lowest possible magnitude stat on a module.

The Apex Mark can drop in precious, exceptional, invaluable, enigma, and Artifact rarities. You can see this by the half-circles above the Apex Mark writing on the NFT.

The description in the middle "Enhances the lowest maximum magnitude to a [medium/ medium/ medium/ big/ big] magnitude on [a precious/ an exceptional/ any/ an Invaluable/ any] module" means:

  • Precious Rarity Apex Mark (Blue) = enhances the lowest maximum magnitude (stat) to a medium magnitude on a Precious module.
  • Exceptional Rarity Apex Mark (Purple) = enhances the lowest maximum magnitude (stat) to a medium magnitude on an Exceptional module.
  • Invaluable Rarity Apex Mark (Yellow) = enhances the lowest maximum magnitude (stat) to a medium magnitude on any module.
  • Enigma Rarity Apex Mark (Orange) = enhances the lowest maximum magnitude (stat) to a big magnitude on an Invaluable module.
  • Artifact Rarity Apex Mark (Red) = enhances the lowest maximum magnitude (stat) to a big magnitude on any module.

How the Apex Mark Works

Please note, that the Apex Mark does not change any stats or stat values on a module. The Apex Mark only changes the lowest magnitude possible to add to a module.

Crafting After Using Apex Mark

After using the Apex Mark, you will still need to craft the module with other Forge Sigils if you want to change or add stats. If your stats are already full, you'll need to use a Transmutative Orb, Nullification Crystal, or a Fragment of Entropy for the chance to remove and add new stats.

If you already have an empty stat available after using Apex Mark, you'll likely want to try using a Smelter's Trinity to fill the empty stat.

How to Get an Extra (Bonus) Big Stat

This is a secret that was discovered by players and posted in the Golem Overlord Discord. The developer (Yixn) has since confirmed that it was not originally intended but will remain as an allowed function.

With the right combination of Forge Sigils, it is possible to exceed the maximum number of big (red) stats by one. The same concept also applies to medium yellow stats.

For example, an Omega Amplifier starts with only a maximum possible one big stat, two medium stats, and one small stat. This can be seen below indicated by the red, yellow, and green dots.

image.png

The Omega Amplifier shown in the results below has 3 big (red) stats! How was this accomplished?

  1. Craft the base module with the Apex Mark - this allows two big and two medium stats.
  2. Add a second big stat with another Forge Sigil (Smelter's Trinity, Transmutative Orb, etc).
  3. Lock one (of two) big stat with a Stasis Conflux.
  4. Add a third big stat with another Forge Sigil (Transmutative Orb in the example below).

The works because the locked big stat (now white) is no longer counted as a big stat when crafting.

Questions?

Crafting in Golem Overlord can be complicated. If you have questions about how the Apex Mark or other Forge Sigils work, ask in the comments or the Golem Overlord Discord server and I or other players will be happy to answer any questions.

Recap of All Forge Sigils

There are currently ten different Forge Sigils that can drop from Yixn's Trinkets Crates. Please see the Golem Overlord Module Guide: Forge Sigils for a detailed explanation of how the rest of these Forge Sigils work.

  1. Arcane Dice
  2. Nullification Crystal
  3. Yixn's Hair
  4. Transmutative Orb
  5. Void Stone
  6. Smelter's Trinity
  7. Pure Pyrite
  8. Stasis Conflux (added to crates after the airdrop)
  9. Fragment of Entropy (added to crates after the airdrop)
  10. Apex Mark (added to crates after final airdrop)

Coming Soon - GO Module Guide: Crafting Continued

In the next post, I will look at more use cases for crafting. I may also try my luck with more void stones to see if I can get lucky and upgrade another module to a higher rarity.

Please leave feedback on this post in the comments or the Golem Overlord Discord. I'll do my best to keep it updated as a reference for players.

Great explanation for this NFT. I was originally confused on what it did but you did a great job breaking it down. Thanks for the added tip to make your module OP with an extra stat.
