Chapter 21: Personality Types

Have you ever heard about MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator) or Enneagram before? MBTI consists of 16 Personality Types. According to AECC Global, "The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator test is based on a core theory that explains how behavioural traits differ from person to person in different situations, thus resulting in various personality types." Enneagram, on the other hand, is another type of personality testing which consists of 9 traits/types.

I first heard about the idea of personality types when I was in College. Back then, a close friend of mine sent me a document file which consisted of a bunch of question. There was even a part wherein I had to do math in order to determine my result. It was kind of an old-school type of testing. lol. I can no longer recall the result I got then. All I remember now is how confused I was, looking at all the acronyms for the personality types. Haha

While listening to the podcast, An Open Mind with Liza Soberano, I was reminded of this website which the same friend sent me a few years back. It was another personality type test, but now online. Haha. In the podcast show mentioned, they ask their guests to take the personality test prior to the interview and they kinda talk about their result during the recording. And oh. I later learned that Liza and I share the same result. hehe

I took my MBTI test through 16personalities.com.

I really like this site because they seem legit. Plus, their result comes with a long explanation, divided into categories. Some of which are the strength and weaknesses, on friendship, on love, as a parent, etc. I don't know how legit this is, but it is really interesting to read! The result spoke with me. There were even parts that made me reflect and make realizations about myself! Cool, right?

My result, by the way, was INFJ-T (Advocate). This stands for Introverted-Intuitive-Feeling-Judging-Turbulent.

As for the Enneagram, I just heard about it recently. I became curious about it, too, so I took my enneagram test before writing this post. I took my test through Eclectic Energies.

Among the 9 traits under enneagram, my result showed that I am a Type 4-Individualist. I read through the explanation/result, and again, it did reflect on who (I think) I am. Haha

I don't know why, but personality tests really interest me. I like finding out my result, whether or not I would believe them. Oh well, no personality test is 100% accurate, so I guess, it already depends on us which to believe or not. Personally, I am more drawn to the MBTI than Enneagram. hehe

How about you? Do you know your MBTI or Enneagram?
If not, you might want to take the tests, too! hihi

Feel free to share with me your results!

Stay sane and safe!
Let's spread happiness.
