Every Orchid Deserves It's Time In The Spotlight ..
And there are no exceptions with this one. She is working so hard, all day, hanging out on her ledge and soaking up some filtered non-direct sunlight. What a tough life, so why not honor her by giving her the spotlight today?
Molly is giving her stamp of approval yet again She is stretching up to get a good look at today's Orchid, and those wonderful blooms. hehe. Okay, maybe I had to crop her in and edit it to appear this way. Pepper would have done this type of thing in a heartbeat, but NO WAY NO HOW is Molly getting this close to a plant.
I Was Shooting A Few Picks For The Shadow Hunters Community ..
I had the Orchid setting up near my record player in a room we rarely use. The sun was shinning in very brightly, which made for a good opportunity to see shadows. Just like the one sitting above Frank Sinatra's Album...
I was able to get a few good shots and even had the time to manipulate the heck out of them, before posting to Shadow Hunters.
That's when I caught a glimpse .. Of a chair I use for photographing things for selling them online. I have a chair draped in a white sheet that works just well enough for the chore. So I decided to use it to help capture a few decent shots of this Orchid. I don't know, but the whites seem to help make the pinks of this flower POP!
I got a few nice closeup's too
Before Ending the Photo Session ..
I decided that I needed to show this Orchid what it's missing on the outside, and at the same time, put her right into the brightest spotlight of all .. the sun.
I don't know for sure, but I thought for a moment she was smiling at her time as being the center of attention.. Although I may be a bit crazy too! Hehehe.
“No risk is more terrifying than that taken by the first root. A lucky root will eventually find water, but its first job is to anchor -- to anchor an embryo and forever end its mobile phase, however passive that mobility was. Once the first root is extended, the plant will never again enjoy any hope (however feeble) of relocating to a place less cold, less dry, less dangerous. Indeed, it will face frost, drought, and greedy jaws without any possibility of flight. The tiny rootlet has only once chance to guess what the future years, decades -- even centuries -- will bring to the patch of soil where it sits. It assesses the light and humidity of the moment, refers to its programming, and quite literally takes the plunge.”

Wow I love that color, a combination of orange and purple?
Molly doesn't smell plants as much as Pepper I gather, but that is better than toppling them over.
I love this phal I will definable get something like this if I decide to have them back.
Yes, it truly is a unique color. I call it pink, but it really is almost a pinkish salmon color.
Molly is fearful of EVERYTHING. She got attacked by two dogs once (on a walk.. her brother was attacked too) and ever since then we noticed a bit of fear in her when she is unfamiliar with the thing.. living or otherwise. I guess a scary event can change us all.
If you get one, remember to post or cross post about it into the community -

Awesome shots! It looks like they are coming along really nicely. It's too bad you can't send some of your green thumb across the Internet over to me!

Decorating the room with our favorite types of plants is a priceless beauty...
I hope I can build my own house in five years from now, and I can decorate it with various kinds of orchids. .
It's good to have a 5-year goal. I hope you get to build it and fill it with lots of plants!
