Phalaenopsis. The elegant and gorgeous flowers of this orchid really show themselves pretty on the patio of my friend. Well, I would like to say that new plants arrived at my home, but it is not the case. These are my friend's plants. I am spending some days here, and as her home is home for us too, practically, I can call them my orchids? OK, just for a short time of vacation spending here.
So, she is also a succulent and orchid lover, also any other plant that comes her way is saved and loved. This includes picking cuttings from plants living in the wilderness, or in the pots of neighbours. When we walk together, it doesn't matter where, our place or their one, we always end up taking home some new cuttings and well, the community of plants receives a new baby.
But this mainly happens with the succulents, as you know, there are so many all around in our climate. Orchids are a bit harder to find, so all these ones she got as a gift or bought them. They are doing well as she found a place for them in the decorative fountain on the closed patio. They have plenty of light and are protected from cold (it has a glass roof).
What happened to my orchid, is that it lived on the balcony but after some time it started to show some not healthy signs. Brown and black spots on the leaves. Thanks to @ewkaw, it is saved, following her advice I cut off the parts that were damaged. Also, I put the plant inside, and voila. It survived and all the small buds it had bloomed. Let me find a photo I took while I was still at home. Ok, here it comes :)
Other plants also found a place in her home. Many of them. Because of the good light and protected zone, they are all doing well. Many of those are the "children" of the bigger plants she has, so it is a kind of a kindergarten :D

Before they go to the new pots, they live in a special place. It was so funny to see plants in the jars in the kitchen, all already have roots. Maybe soon they will have new homes, new pots! At the moment they like the company of oranges, pears, apples and bananas! Strange combinations hahaha.
Oh, and a surprise. On the other patio, more plants live, but just two will come here. One jelly plant, very similar to the one I have got, and the children of my big fuzzy plant that had the suicidal attempts some months ago. I had enough of the new cuttings that I planted, so one of the pots I gave her. They will do so well here, with their new mom :)
They have a good life :))
What beautiful plants. I find that the presence of them creates a kind of harmony in the space where they are located. We should surround ourselves with all that is natural or bring them home. I will buy some for my new house 😊
Yes, the plants indeed can make some kind of harmony. Even if someone thinks it is just nonsense...but they are living creatures too, that reflect some form of energy, or are we mistaken?
Also, when you take care of them, you show some care, we could even say affection. That way it also helps us to nurture some values in us :)
Of course @mipiano, we were not wrong. They are living beings and they are energy, good energy that we should take care of 🙂
Lot of cool planrs 🤗👌👌👌 I hope you have in garden them more .
Thank :)
I have a lot of them on my balcony, unfortunately, garden right now I don't have. Anyway, that space I have reserved for my plants and the time I spend with them is nice :))
But this is good also ... one day you have bigger garden, you just learn how to do things when you get this garden :)
I can imagine taking cuttings all the time. I used to do that, but because of our upcoming move I stopped as I can’t take plants 😞 so have to start later again…What beautiful plants she has @mipiano
And I see your orchid 🥰 wow it looks so good now! I’m glad it survived. YEAH
Have fun in your friends place 👋🏻😊☀️
Yes, and she has way more, I just didn't take photos of all of them hahaha.
Cuttings, well just when you know you don't have to move too much. I am already thinking about when and if I will have to move that it will be a bit of pain hahah 😁
You see, the orchid is doing well. It healed 😇
Thanks, yes, we are having a great time, whole day activities :)
A great place to visit then 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
Yep don’t want to think about it just yet. Leaving my plants👋🏻😁 and having to start all over again.
She is so beautiful your healed orchids.
Good to hear, enjoy further @mipiano
Your friend has got sooooo many plants, it's like a visit to a beautiful conservatory. And I love your orchid, so elegant!
I was moderate in taking photos at her place :D
She has way more of them, but it is the benefit of having enough space for plants. And she really likes to take care of them.
I almost said goodbye to my orchid, but seems she is back to life :)))
Maybe she liked the piano music 😁
I really liked the bottles, root is visible and you can see it growing both ways, unfortunately not all of plants are water frogs. :(
You have one lovely balcony there (edit). ..
It was funny to see those jars and bottles with water and plants put there to grow roots.
I remember my mom used to do that, but not so many and at the same time as my friend :)
You are right, not all the plants like too much water, succulents are doing well with another rhythm of watering. I water them once a week, and for now, it seems to be a good tactic :)
Already complained to @ewkaw about my ability ti kill succulents :D My friend also grows them successfully, I have two cats and very small choice of what can I grow, as they like to taste everything.
Bottles are somehow sloppy and chic (except the part you have to clean them regularly) 🙄
You are amazing, you can kill a succulent? 😱😅
I am trying to get into that #PlantKiller club, but so far I am not that successful.
I even couldn't kill my orchid, it refused to die 😂
The world of flowers and plants is very beautiful, caring for them is very romantic and requires a gentle spirit.
I would love to have a private garden and keep all kinds of flowers there😊😊
Oh, a gentle spirit, maybe you are right.
The owner of the local flower shop is so nice with people and gentle indeed, and his flower shop looks fantastic. Maybe there is indeed some connection :))
I wish you have one day your garden
Do you have some plants now?
Unfortunately not, but wish i had😊
This is really lovely. These flowers look so natural and healthy, radiating so much beauty. I love the sense of esthetics ♥Hello @mipiano
Thank you :)
Plants can give our home that esthetic touch but moreover, it is important if we like them.
The plants need that love for doing well :)
Yay! So glad to hear the orchid is fine :)
The first pink one is lovely.
And plants in the kitchen is perfectly normal :P
Yes, thanks to your advice of cutting down the damaged leaves 😃
My kitchen is that small that the only plants I can handle there are veggies and fruits 😁
Thanks for these nice photos @mipiano . I also enlarge some plants in my garden but there are no orchids that look wonderfull, I wanna try to do it. :))
Hello @ozgeoz
Nice you have your plants too and a garden. The orchids are so beautiful, try them, though they are not always easy to take care of them. They are fragile :)
thank you so much @qurator team and @brumest 😃
The white orchid is really beautiful!
That one is mine :))
Almost died but survived!
yeah, I've read that! But it is really beautiful and rich, you wont say it was almost dying haha:))
It was a great surprise how it turned out to be alive and in good shape again :)
sorry for this late response 😅
Don't worry! I completely understand! Life gets busy soemetimes, doesn't it?
Absolutely :))
thanks 😇
These are beautiful! Your friend clearly has a green thumb..
So, does my Mum, something which I haven't inherited, I'm afraid.
Things are getting a little better now that I work from home full time,
so I can keep an eye on them, but some are not easily pleased, just like orchids.
I do the same as your friend, but I don't collect cuttings, I pick seeds when I walk the dogs, and throw them out in the garden, to see what happens... Still looking.. 😄
Maybe I should get more succulents.. Might be an easier bet, assuming they grow well up here.. Your friend's there look so lovely!
She sprays her plants.. that's real commitment! 👏
Oh, there is an expression: a green thumb?
If yes, nice :))
Orchids are a bit fragile, I would say, indeed try with more succulents. But the climate also helps, I am not sure how are they doing in the UK. They don't need constant watering, so I suppose Spain is a perfect place for all the succulents growing in the wilderness :D
😂😂
Well, I hope one day something nice will grow from those seeds :D
One can dream.. :D
...and the dreams sometimes come true 😀
I don’t remember ever seeing an orchid before, but they are gorgeous plants… I’m sure it would be satisfying to see them do well under your care.
They are so nice, you are right.
I do have one, that white one with small flowers is mine, and it was just saved from sure death hahaha.
Yes, they really have a good life and are sure healthy and beautiful.
My friend gives them the best treatment: care and much love :)
