PREMIO MUNICIPAL DE ARTES VISUALES | SALON JUAN LOVERA 2024 [ENG/ESP]

Hola HIVE espero que todos se encuentren muy bien viviendo una grandiosa experiencia artística.
A month ago I found out through social media about the reopening of the Juan Lovera Visual Arts Salon, and since this year I have tried to participate in as many calls for entries as I can, I decided to take part in the salon. I had been working on a piece of oil painting on an assembled support for a while. I previously made a post about that work; I finished it on the last day allowed to send in the proposal, but I participated on time. A few days before the opening of the show, they sent a statement saying that 61 works had been received, but that 16 were not going to be selected due to space constraints at the exhibition site. Several acquaintances who participated told me that they had not been selected. I had not received any messages, but on Wednesday of this week, the day before the show, there was an accident on the highway to the area where I live and I arrived home super late. When I got home, I checked my messages and they had informed me that I was not going to participate in the exhibition.
Hace un mes me entere por las redes sociales de la reinauguración del Salón de Artes Visuales Juan Lovera, y como este año he intentado participar en todas las convocatorias que pueda, me anime a participar en ese salón, ya tenía rato elaborando una pieza en pintura al óleo sobre un soporte ensamblado, anteriormente hice una publicación sobre esa obra; la culmine el último día permitido para enviar la propuesta, pero hice mi participación a tiempo. Unos días antes de la inauguración de la muestra enviaron un comunicado diciendo que fueron recibidas 61 obras, pero que 16 no iban a ser seleccionadas por motivos de espacio en el lugar de exposición, varios conocidos que participaron me dijeron que no habían sido seleccionados, yo no había recibido ningún mensaje, pero el día miércoles de esta semana un día antes de la muestra, hubo un accidente en la autopista vía para la zona donde vivo y llegue super tarde a mi casa, cuando llego reviso los mensajes y me habían informado que no iba a participar en la exposición.
The next day the exhibition opened at the Caracas Museum. I went there to see the pieces on display and to pick up the work I had submitted. There were some very good works in different techniques, full of vibrant colors and concepts. They held a small awards ceremony and gave recognition to all the participants in the Juan Lovera Visual Arts Salon.
El día siguiente inauguraron la muestra en el Museo de Caracas, me acerque un rato para ver las piezas expuestas y retirar la obra que postule, hubo muy buenas obras en diferentes técnicas llenas de vibrantes colores y conceptos; hicieron una pequeña premiación y les dieron un reconocimiento a todos los participantes del Salón de Artes Visuales Juan Lovera.
I am glad to see that the only video art that was selected for the exhibition was the one submitted by #PEINETASPRODUCCIONES. I did not participate in the production of that video, but it was comforting to see that video there and know that all visitors will see it.
Me alegro ver que el único videoarte que estuvo seleccionado para la exposición fue el que postulo #PEINETASPRODUCCIONES, no participe en la producción de ese video, pero fue reconfortante ver ese video allí y saber que todos los visitantes lo verán.
I am also pleased to know that two UNEARTE professors with whom I take classes were given special recognition for their artistic careers, Hendrick Hidalgo and José Luis Tachón.
También me alegro saber que a dos profesores de la UNEARTE con los que veo clases, les dieron un reconocimiento especial por su trayectoria artística, Hendrick Hidalgo y José Luis Tachón.
I met up with a fellow artist Jean Capote, a college classmate with whom I have worked on murals and other art projects. His work was selected for the show and I was very happy to see him there with a great piece of digital art.
Me encontré con un hermano de artes Jean Capote un compañero de la universidad con el que he trabajado en murales y otros proyectos artísticos, su obra si fue seleccionada para la muestra, me alegre mucho de verlo allí con una gran pieza de arte digital.
This was an experience that helps me to continue growing and encourages me to continue with my artistic research to develop my own plastic language that allows me to express the consciousness of my being; I received recognition for participating in this reopening of the Juan Lovera Visual Arts Salon; this new year that is approaching I will be attentive to all the upcoming calls that are presented to participate and continue learning and growing with art. Esta fue una experiencia que me ayuda a seguir creciendo y me impulsa a continuar con mi investigación artística para ir desarrollando mi propio lenguaje plástico que me permita expresar la conciencia de mi ser; recibí un reconocimiento por participar en esta reinauguración del Salón de Artes Visuales Juan Lovera; este nuevo año que se aproxima estaré atento a todas las próximas convocatorias que se presenten para participar y seguir aprendiendo y creciendo con el arte. Espero que este post sea de su agrado, buenas vibras.
