I was strolling the mall for some living room inspiration when I was pulled by something magnetic going to the home section of a popular lifestyle clothing brand. I am not sure if it is just me getting easily drawn to anything home-improvement stores or do other people experience the same thing. Let me know in the comment section. Anyways,
I was scouring the store hopping from one section to another, scrolling every shelf when I saw these beautiful ornaments.
I thought they could be a lovely addition to my living room which has a minimal approach. I am not purely into strict minimalism the Marie Kondo way but the principle is so practical I want to incorporate it into my design philosophy. You see, I am the type of person that holds on to things to a point that I kind of hoarded them until I saw Marie Kondo's docu on Netflix which changes my life for the better - big words!
Here is a sample of my minimalist living room which is a favorite hangout place of my fur buddies. I went shopping for ornaments and whatnot because I find them too minimal hence, I went shopping for interior decoration to achieve a bohemian look with a little organic.
Next Section
I moved on from the other section and I saw these buri mats and planters which are so pretty but a bit expensive haha. By the way I am frugal person and I always make sure that I get my money's worth. SO before deciding on buying something I made sure that I had already scoured the entire marketplace for the cheapest price.
I really find them very chic and organic but boy they are too expensive for my budget. I saw these kinds of mats and planters on facebook marketplace and it was just a fraction of the price. I move to the next shelf and continue scouring.
The glass wares are so pretty I was tempted to hold them but I stopped myself as I can't afford to pay for them if ever something bad is going to happen. Hahaha. But it is the glass cake dome that captured my attention I kept staring at it. Moving on to the next aisle are shelves of minimalist earth-tone candle holders, and ornaments.
Feeling Sad
I felt sad that I had to go out and not buy anything. My frugality gets in the way, as always. I decided to buy it online instead and look for a cheaper alternative. I absolutely understand that you are not just buying for the product but the name of the establishment as well, hence the expensive price tag.
But I bought something on my way home. I drop by a Japanese surplus store and bought second-hand ceramics. I intend to use it for my succulents.
Sometimes it can take a lot of discounts for me to buy expensive brands haha but this time I was able to hold my ground and got out empty-handed. Are you a fan of expensive home improvement products? What was your last purchase? Let us know in the comments!
As always, thank you for reading. Please share and upvote!

I prefer going to surplus shops. with no intentions or buying specific items to buy, I'll just roam around and just pick what I like. something unique and useful.
Yea there are lots of option to chose from at a fraction of the price.
