She wasn't interested in the value of the collection, just in the gathering of it. Sort of my mom's style..

Mine too on most all the collectibles I've managed not to throw away. I have over 100 coffee cups, 50 from each state. The rest friends bring back from their vacation trip.

The state quarters in particular I was referring to was the official collection. I have that 2 binder set when it was first issued. That's when I read about the value of the coins in circulation. Another Hive member I responded to yesterday had collected the quarters also.

I started off with the quarters I'd get as change from retailers. I had a small box full of those. Then I heard about the official set, so I gathered up all my loose quarters, chose the ones that didn't have many scratch marks, and made a complete set of those. The rest I redeemed.
