Hello Hiveians! Saturdays (especially at night) have always been a time for me to look back on the week's events. I would then search for quotes that would inspire me. That is how I started making my "Sayings Saturday" posts. I have only shared a couple of quotes before and I have been thinking of bringing this weekly routine back. My 6-day work schedule made me think mostly about work or house chores. With this icebreaker from my usual day or week, I have something to look forward to every weekend, that is, be inspired and be able to share it with everyone.
Just a quick preview, here are some inspiring quotes that I have shared before. One is from Maya Angelou, who is a famous civil rights activist, writer, and poet that is especially known for her work, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.
Nothing will work unless you do
Sayings Saturday # 1: Jumpstart to be Great 🏃🏆
Fear and laziness are great obstacles that could block that very first step to success. Overcoming them can really make a difference.
Another one is from Babe Ruth, who is one of the greatest hitters in baseball and was the first left-handed pitcher for the Boston Red Sox.
Yesterday's home runs don't win today's games
Sayings Saturday # 2: Winning Today's Games
To be a newbie is sometimes a struggle especially if your job is to create or improve systems. There will always be some who already closed their minds from new ideas. They became comfortable with the methods that they already mastered.
Most of the quotes that I choose are randomly picked based on what I'm currently experiencing, feeling, or something that just pops in my head about a certain topic. For this week, let me share with you a quote related to life choices. I found a quote from Roy T. Bennett (Author of The Light in the Heart), which goes,
Every choice comes with a consequence. Once you make a choice, you must accept responsibility. You cannot escape the consequences of your choices, whether you like them or not.
Every day we're experiencing or have to make small decisions even on the clothes we wear, the food that we eat for lunch, or which street to pass, we all need to make choices. There are even times that we don't think much about which to choose, and we are involuntarily making one already. In the different aspects of our lives or even at work we have to make certain decisions that could greatly impact something, such as relationship or cost.
In my work that is related to quality, there are daily decisions that I have to make. I need to make it as quick as possible but at the same time a reasonable one. References or bases are important for me to have a reliable recommendation. This will help me in defending my decision and be firm whenever someone would challenge or refute.
In life, I would be a hypocrite if I would say that I have no regrets for every bad decision that I made. Nevertheless, having a wrong decision is better than not having or not choosing at all. Nothing will happen if we will not decide or act on something. Whatever that we decide, we should be thinking ahead about what possible things could happen or what could go wrong. At least we are prepared for the consequences and help us to avoid being frustrated or stressed out. If we are able to foresee what could happen, we become more prepared and calmer in facing the outcome of our choices.
Love Lots,
@wandergirl ❤️
