After the busy period of searching and researching for suitable schools or playgroups for my CDHer son, we have finally come to a conclusion that we will homeschool him as long as we can. It was not easy to find one which suit him, smaller group in a class, yet affordable, with teachers able to give him some one-to-one input, reminding him to eat his food and drink drink his water, making sure no one bullies him for being small or tube-fed, etc.
After laying out the pros and cons, we think homeschooling him is the best option now considering he still has some health complications to combat, and he still is not able to eat and drink enough via his mouth.
That was what got me so busy end of last year and beginning of this year, reading about homeschooling stuff and how to do it in my country, joining support groups here and there, setting up my house to be more equipped for the purpose, preparing his heart for it, and the list goes on.
So far, it is great.
He is able to cooperate with me through various activities and fun. I tried to make it easy for him as his attention span is so little for a start. I don't intend to rush him into mastering writing ABCs and 123s yet, because he still needs to pick up gross motor skills and other skills like climbing, cycling, those fun stuffs for boys.
Noticing he still need to enhance his fine motor skills, I bought this mushrooms-pin board for him. He absolutely loves it!!!
