RE: Popcorn Goodness

I love popcorn.

I have one of the stove top Whirley poppers and that is the only one for now. I usually use peanut oil and a pat of butter so the popcorn has a little flavor, even though it doesn't really taste buttery that way, it is still better (to me).... and salt of course.

Many years ago when the air poppers came out, our family got one and I never really cared for the popcorn out of that. It was too bland and the salt wouldn't stick to it. I HAVE to have salt. 😄

I always wondered if the theater ones really made popcorn taste like the theater popcorn as it seems to be the best in the world, but I do think it matters what oil you use and the grade of popcorn kernels you use.

Sometimes I like to sprinkle some grated parmesan cheese on it after it has popped, but while it is still warm....mmmMMMmmmmm

Enjoyed your post.

Hey, thanks for stopping by!

I do agree with the blandness of the air popper. It needs oil to have any chance of flavour.

My personal favourite topping is the White Cheddar sprinkle that I keep tucked away in the cupboard. There's a tasty Kettle Corn, too, but I usually keep going back to cheddar. I'll need to try some freshly grated parmesan! That does sound tasty.
