Nice to share in music, and enjoy the weekend.
Army years those days were compulsory for most, many would not understand that today, our guys went from 1 to 2 years straight after leaving school.
Makes one wonder about life as it is today, Oh well no use lingering on what has been and done, enjoy the music and make new songs in life.
Today is rainy, but warm and I am working tomorrow, so my weekend is already over 😉
Our obligatory army time is only 6 or 8 months. I joined with 17 because I thought I would like it and stay, but it was not my world and not my kind of people to say it nicely 😉
Right, the past is gone, but the music was much better 😁

It was May 1983, I was 17 and in the army when I heard this song for the first time. I don't tell you what I was wearing these days apart from the green army uniform, but the seller said it was ultramodern ... turquoise and yellow, I don't say more 🤣

Having a chat earlier tonight with @JeanLucSr about famour Assies that were actually born Kiwi's (New Zealanders) and one of my still favourite rock pop artists of the 80's Jenny Morris instantly came to mind and here she is, still as awesome as ever with a song about women- which also happened to be the theme of my blog tonight too.

This track was released today. It is a charity record for frontline workers dealing with covid around the world. It happens to be a rework of one of my favourite tracks of all time "Tower of Strength" by The Mission.
Wayne Hussey, the lead singer of the Mission, who co-wrote the track is behind it. They have renamed it so that all royalties will go to the charity.
There is more info on YouTube. It is available on streaming sites but people can pay for a download (money goes to international Frontline workers charities nominated by the artists involved) here: https://remissioninternational.lnk.to/tos2020
