Rippling Clouds Stormy Rapture

Singing In The Rain

After a warm winter day reaching 28 deg C the afternoon cloud formation a clear indicator of change in weather approaching. First photo showing late afternoon with sun starting to drop down at the horizon, second photograph straight up above of the incredible rippling cloud patterns.

Photograph of Cirrocumulus clouds rippling overhead at 15h50 on 10th June, an indicator of fair, but cold weather arriving.

Much like life below we bump into one another online and off, new decisions of where or how to go forward. Knocking into one another connecting through space and time.

Clouds just happen to talk a different language, sometimes they gather making a strong concerted effort, other days they float aimlessly about, sounds familiar doesn't it.

Mild weather presented itself the next day, a glorious winter day, not quite so warm at around 25 deg C, for winter who can beat that? However change happened suddenly around 15h00 when I took Woody out for his constitutional walk.

7822FastApproach15h04.JPG

After a hurried pee around the garden I took a few snaps and retreated indoors to give Woody 2 Rescue (natural remedy) tablets since one thing that puts him on edge for up to six hours is an electrical storm... and yes he heard it approaching.

Looking down the valley an ominous look of dark nimbostratus (hope I got the right one there) cloud creeping up the valley. In the distance a faint rumble which set the dog into motion, his ears are far more acute to hearing than mine will ever be.

783215h56_Rain.JPG

We listened from indoors as the stormy rapture released itself, all hell let loose (photo taken 15h56 out my window), downpour lasted no more than 30 minutes. Later on checking the rain gauge 40mm had fallen, it came straight down hard and heavy, just as quickly moved on up the coast still burbling and spluttering.

Intense storms like this come and go quickly especially after the warm berg wind on the previous day, let's look down the valley after the storm cleared at 16h45.

Cloud line literally cut down the middle over head at 16h52.

Following events like this, some clearing of mud will happen. We are normally rewarded with a fantastic display in nature with a golden sunset.

Rippling clouds remind one of days we were carefree, lulling us in mesmerizing time frame of ability to move around freely enjoying life.

Stormy rapture, harshness reminded me of how quickly life can change, excessive control swirling into our lives creating havoc.

Currently sitting waiting for the next move on cold cloudless day, still unable to move freely, harsh rules imposed some possibly returning, one really has to throw caution to the wind of dictatorship on the horizon.

Middle of winter we normally don't get rain, brought about a beautiful sunset @bucipuci

I lived in a mistake. I thought it was raining in the south in the winter.

No you are right, rain in winter is rare in Durban on our East coast, whereas Cape Town on the West coast they get winter rain, sometimes it will come all the way up the coast if it is a big cold front.

I'm a little smarter again. Thanks :-)

Thank you do much for the shout out and your ongoing prayers @joanstewart, love you 💕🙏

We are walking a strange path at the moment, dealing with additional anxiety, the least we can do is help each other in thought.

Nature offered the beautiful light, still cold here but clear skies from end to end. Thanks for visiting @tussar11

The calm after the storm is stunning. I will admit that 28C on a winter day is a child's play. :)

I love the beauty that is left behind the storm, the golden sunsets in life. The silhouette is superb!

Since the rain our temperature has plummeted down to 8 deg C max 20 deg C, proper winter weather for our region.

In-land go into minus numbers overnight, Cape coast (Western side) where @jaynie and @papilloncharity reside experienced extreme storms, rain and snow completely different to the East where I live.

Well it's sunny outside, back to the perfect winter, cool calm of no wind, alas still no park nor beach walks to enjoy yet.

Have a wonderful sunshine day when you rise and shine Denise, thanks for all the support you always share wherever you go.

🎁 Hi @joanstewart! You have received 0.1 HIVE tip from @dswigle!

A great post here Lady Joan and so glad that we could send you some of what we endured for 3 days now. Ours was more of a drenching big drops rain.
I step outside for two minutes and it looked as if I took a shower with my clothes on lol.
I even have to tip the water out of my shoes.

The squirrels were running around with muddy war paint streaks on their faces, but it was the 20 odd doves that we felt the most sorry for.

Our first snow arrived today, so you can expect some more cold weather and you are welcome to go and have a look!
Blessings!

The rain was welcomed, garden really needed it after first cut in months, lawn looked awful.

Did see some footage on how wild the sea was down there again. Effects of rain you had with flash flooding, possibly due to drains being clogged.

We are a little far to drive up to snow unfortunately. Have yourself a great day, squirrels and doves will come for food after the cold.

Squirrels and doves are here in droves in the cold my friend.
Glad that you got some rain.
Had the normal flooding in all of the low lying areas.
Hope that you guys will have a good week!

A lot of different colors within those shots, we don't have the best sunsets here as we are surrounded by too many buildings.

Sky turned into an artists palette of splashed light/dark grey, pink and gold. After rain washed out the valley it becomes clear and everything smells clean again.

Thanks for visiting and enjoying the sight with me @justinparke

Fantastic photos of the clouds Joan. It doesn’t seem like winter to me when it’s 25C. 💞If we could be so lucky here in winter.

Animals, like your Woody, are so much more sensitive to changes in weather than we are. It’s good your have natural medicine to help calm him when the storm approaches.

!tipLovely shoutout to @jaynie and to @wonderwop. Specials prayers send to help them through this difficult time.🙏

Our winters are what we live for, absolutely the best time of the year.

I would most definitely would have loved to have lived through a winter with snow when I was younger, not so sure I would do it now, one really has to be properly prepared for your winters up there.

Enjoy your summer months in sunshine and glorious meadows filled with flowers.

Thanks Joan, I am enjoying these pleasant months ahead.

I’ve lived through many winters and have enjoyed the sports associated with it, such as, ice skating, skiing, snowmobiling, etc but as you get older you don’t like the cold season so much.

It’s good your winters are enjoyable. Hopeful you will be able to do your beach and park walks soon.

Have a great week Joan.😊

That was a very hard and fast storm, arrived and went quickly leaving us in colder days. Will be about a week and should start warming up again.

Clouds never cease to amaze me it's like a cartoon artist trying to keep up with the outstanding changes per/second 🤣
