So recently I was at Lake Michigan. The westward unobstructed view is known to provide a good opportunity to catch some nice sunsets. I admit I always do enjoy seeing water, waves and a nice sunset. Of course the clouds or lack thereof affect the potential of the shot.
As pleasant as the sunset was to watch as the ball began to dip under the horizon, I found myself gazing not to the west, but to the south. You see there was an outcropping with a tiny tree that was just pleasantly bathed in the pink hues of the sunset.
Trees
What can I say, I love them!
I really like the silhouette of this tree. He seemed to be proudly standing guard, or at least keeping the lighthouse company, as he stood guard against the gloaming.
Oh and soon I will be heading south. May not get down to the palms, but I can dream anyways. I love palm trees, regarless of they type or size!

Sunset on the water. Life doesn't get any better than that. Such a sublime moment with the orange glow and the day shutting down. Sweet.
I still have this thing about lighthouses. I love them. I have never seen a lighthouse that I didn't want to live in.
Gorgeous shots.

I am a big lighthouse fan as well. In fact I had a cottage on the lake here that I would rent out that was entirely lighthouse themed in decoration. A regular yearly renter liked it so much that she started decorating her own house in lighthouse decor in the middle of Indiana with nary a drop of water around lol.
Take us to the shore, Paul:)
Gladly :)
Nice photos. Love the way the orange glow goes completely across the horizon in the first one.
The second one.... just makes me want to be standing there with my toes in the sand.
Toes in the sand, just such a nice feeling!
For sure !
You guys are so lucky to live near such majestic lakes. Our lakes are quite a bit smaller. Finland used to possess the northwest shore of Lake Ladoga, which is about 200 km x 110 km in size, until the summer of 1944.
Lake Michigan is about 500 km long and about 130 km wide at the widest point. That's almost like the Gulf of Bothnia (length 666 km, width 233 km) between Sweden and Finland in the Baltic sea.
The strange thing is the Atlantic when I swam in it last year, was so much warmer than Lake Michigan!!
Could it have been because of the exact place you were swimming in?
The tree next to the light house looks pretty good, I am sure it is thinking one day I will be a bigger beacon to the people of the lake than that skinny house.
Yep and the tree might outlast that lighthouse if he gets lucky in life!
The fist two photos are breathtaking! 💚💚
