HELLO HIVE
Regularly Maintaining a clean poultry cage is very crucial for the well being of our birds, a well kept environment promotes good efficient growth and productivity of the birds it also ensures their physical health is sound.
There are so many reasons why we should keep their cages clean and I will explain some before explaining how I go about it
Number one is Prevention of disease which is the most obvious reason poultry are highly susceptible to different diseases in which most of which have been traced back to unclean environment when cages are not cleaned properly then the droppings from birds will definitely accumulate creating a perfect breeding environment for different organisms like bacterias, fungi and parasites that are harmful to these birds this pathogens create pose different levels of health threats to the birds that could manifest as respiratory illnesses, diarrhea and the avian influenza these significantly results in outbreaks.
Prevention of parasite infestations when cages are dirty they present the perfect breeding environment for so many parasites like mite and lice that cause discomfort to the poultry birds.
Improved growth and productivity when the environment is clean and healthy it presents the birds with the right opportunity to thrive because of the increased efficient food conversion.
The air quality within and around the poultry cage is better if the cage is clean so it's not just the birds that are benefiting but also everyone living around.
Practical ways of doing this
There are so many ways we can go about this, what I normally do is to make sure the the droppings are removed regularly and also the spilled feeds I also have a cleaning schedule that is normally follow, when the construction of the cage was on some parts of the cage where made of nets to ensure ventilation and then there is the regular pest control that I do when I use pesticides to spray the cage but when that is about to be done the birds will be moved from that cage to a temporary one to make sure the birds are not exposed to the pesticides.
Indeed, Neat environment help birds to stay healthier.
Nice sanitation 👍
