Farmers over the years work so hard to come up with ways in which they can process their harvested crops because every harvested crop has to go through some processes to make this crops ready to eat,store and even sell depending on what we want to do with them and to achieve any of these there has to be proper preparations and equipment that are up to the task, we don't see the old processing equipment anymore and the ones we see are those that famers could not easily replaced or the ones that have become part of us due to our connections to them because of our culture.
With the significant stress that comes with hand picking beans, farmers take their time off to rest for some months in some cases before they proceed with processing,bagging and storing it . There are machines that are specially made for this but there is also an alternative method that requires equipments like the moulter and pestles for pounding this will remove the beans from the pods after it is hit with significant amount of energy but the problem with this is that the seeds may break if the force exceeds what the seed can bear this will cause damage to the seed that may reduce it value if the plan was to sell the beans but if it was meant for consumption by the farmer then there is something special that can be made from this beans that have been affected,we can make moi moi a native Nigeria food also akara popularly known as beans cake from this damaged beans.
