The soil feels cold and humid under my feet. I am grateful for being able to ground like that on winter solstice. even though the nights are frosty, the afternoons are sunny and pleasant as of late.
we are over the hump now, going back into another cycle of increasing light and energy. even though it is only beginning of winter and colder weather still awaits us, the daily addition of day light makes it all more bearable. just another cycle, we have done it before, we can do it again.
there is a far echoing promise of a spring.
with much gratitude, I face the last days of this year. grateful for it all, good and bad that was my curriculum to learn and grow in yet another portion of my life thus far.
there is a lot more to hope for, many points to improve on, many issues to solve, many unknowns to navigate.
I am ever grateful to this piece of earth I call home that carries my weight, absorbs my steps, tickles my feet, grows my food and filters my water.
things in my life are far from perfect and more so in the last few weeks, but there is a deep knowing in me that with the shift toward longer days, all else will shift toward the light.
sending you all love and light and wishing you all happy holidays along side your loved ones 🙏
