To prepare the land for planting cassava stems, the land has to be cleared neatly, it's good to apply chemicals like herbicides to reduce the weeds in the farm before planting. The best time to plant cassava stem is during raining season. The Gestation period of cassava is longer, It mostly takes six months to a year to be harvested. Most farmers harvest during dry season which is the best. I'm planning to harvest mine in November when the rain is finally over.
Propagating cassava, is a bit easier because all we need is cassava stems from a fresh cassava plant. what's needed, is that the small part of the stem, is to be placed to the soil directly in an horizontal way. Some part of the stem are meant to be in the ground, while some outside.
It's not all cassava stems that is due for cutting, it has to be mature, so it will have the capacity to regrow but an immature stem dies easily from the soil.
I planted cassava stem in April, at our farm land. With the help of the rain especially from last month, my cassava is growing so well. Seeing it from the leaves makes me feel joyful.
