Good morning from here, its my pleasure to be back here to share my gardening experience, i want celebrate you all for keeping this great community smooth and active.
yesterday i visited my garden after a long while, i noticed that my effort is yielding great and amazing result, I was a little bit discouraged last year when i ventured into the pineapple planting.
it was first an issue getting the sucker in my new station, and i was also worried about the transportation of the sucker from my farm in another environment to this new area considering the cost of transportation.
Since i was convinced, I had to pule through the challenges, it was on a difficult note but need was done. I was able to transport about 50 suckers and planted them at first then added another 50 suckers, they are all doing fine as you can see in the pictures, in fact last year i a few harvest but i was still studying the growth process.
I didn't have enough space to plant them in the same location but i had to space them, because i noticed that in the same farmland the yielding capacity was different with crops, so i had to sample different locations to see it yielding capacity for the pineapple
This location has about 58 stands of pineapple, as you can see above and as you can see they are all not getting matured at the same time, even when they may have been planted at the same planting season but in my observations the maturity state of the individual suckers were quite different and that has as well contributed to the fruit yielding ability .
This location is a combination of pineapple with fruited pumpkin, actually this location was initially use for the planting of vegetables but i have decided to do some crop rotation so as to allow the soil gain some level of vitality.
As you can see in the one above, very soon there will be harvest, this has really motivated me and am planning to add more 50 suckers, as i can see there will be like about 5 to 10 harvest weekly at this start, the size of the pineapple fruit is very impressive, over here one of this size goes for about 1.5$ depending on the size.
I can not fully express my joy over the plantation, it like a dream but it is real. now i move from just buying to eat to having enough to bless my neighbors and the immediate community.
by the end of this month we will have a few pineapple fruit to share with friends as we celebrate the Christmas season.
