3DP, Flowers, Dead Ram, New Bale, Practice, Hearts, Wrestling Tournament, Snow - Wednesday

It was damned cold yesterday morning, under 10F until well after the sun came up. My morning was mainly spent inside trying to get the printer to do what I wanted. The first one finished and the larger of the two actually works, the smaller I scaled too small to easily get together. It's really a letter opener as the blade is pretty thin on the edge. It is still pointy and sharp.

I had the HSW panel going when I noticed the filament had stopped feeding. I had missed too many layers so when I tried to restart it was way off. I now have a half thick panel but it can still be used.

One of my little citrus plants in the studio has flowers on it thanks to the grow light I have shining on them. Mid winter and little flowers... I'll take it.

I then went and got the mail and on my way back I stopped into the sheep pen and found our old ram had died. Dude was old when we got him a decade ago and had been looking pretty worse for wear the past months.

The rest of the sheep were up the hill so I was able to grab the garden cart, remove the sides, then rolled the carcass out to the bone yard where I dropped it to let the eagles and coyotes have at it. The birds do the best job as they will mass it. I'll keep my eyes out today for the swarms flying around the area.

With the sheep up the hill still I was able to get the bale rolled in for them.

The cage is frozen to the ground so I have to wait for the rains coming to try and thaw it so I can move them to around the bale.

It really does help watching the pro darts players throws. I find myself slightly adjusting my grip in response and it is gradually refining to a pretty consistent feel and release. The majority of my throws are now grouped to 1 to 2 inches most times and closer a lot.

J has orders for Dummies at school so I had more parts come off the printer. Also got more of the SMA knobs done so I can place them on all the SMAs I have around here. Largely the HAM and SDR stuff.

J also had a request for a heart shaped box which I found on Printables. I scaled it down a good bit then scaled it vertically up some. The 4 printed in about an hour.

I had dinner made and we were able to eat in time to head up to the school for the wrestling tournament between Riverside and Colville. Colville only had like 6 wrestlers so it was a ton of forfeits for weight classes.

IMG_20250129_175905.jpg

It was incredible. Our chiro is the oldest of 11 boys, the two youngest are still in high school, and they ALL have wrestled. Ryan's name is on the records boards all over the wall and their family name is all over them. They all went out to sing the national anthem and it was SICK! They are very well practiced and can absolutely be an a capella group.

IMG_20250129_175927.jpg

It really sounded amazing the dozen of them.

IMG_20250129_175944.jpg

The matches that did go on were about half and half won be each team. The forfeits gave the tourney points to us but Colville still did pretty good.

IMG_20250129_180737.jpg

It turned out to be a rather short event just due to the small number of Colville wrestlers.

We got home and still had time before going out to soak.

The last print for the night that I had going during the wrestling was the dummy frames and then the dummy spider. I had put the eyes on the hearts plate so I will have red eyes for it.

I see wildly varying predictions between NWS and Wx for the next days. NWS says 1-3 inches while Wx is saying a foot plus by next week... I guess I will go get the snowblower running and make sure it's ready, just in case.

I thought I was skating without getting what the boys have had but this morning I woke to the suds and I feel like pure and utter garbage. My abscess hurts, my chest is clogged, sinuses filled, at least I'm coughing shit up but this sucks big hairy balls plopped menacingly on the table. I downed vit a, c, d, NAC, along with my antibiotic so I'm really hoping to overwhelm whatever this ick is and shut it down with great prejudice.

I'll get the boys to school in a bit, the printer is going already and will stay working all day, I'll dink with the snowblower, PDC masters comes on mid day, make the rounds of the farm and and prep for the coming snow, then will get he boys after STEM club, and will have to figure out dinner.

Sort:

Sorry to read you are sick on top of the abscess. Hope both heal fast!

Thankfully the NAC, A, C, D mix helped a lot and the ick subsided most of the day.

I hope you feel better being sick is no fun!🙄

There's so much yuck going around! I hope you kick your "bug" soon. I have had the one that is a minor upper respiratory thing with a main feature of amazing fatigue that lingers and lingers. Also yuck.

Sorry about the old ram. That sort of thing happens, I know, but it's always a bit sad when it does.
