I was on the road a bit later yesterday morning now that I am sleeping better at night. It was about 6:15 when I headed out for town before the sun had popped over the horizon.
This is the first time in over a decade of picking up grain that I have had someone passed out next to the barrels. They have slept within view often times, but never right at the barrels. He moved enough for me to tell he wasn't dead and it looked like he likely had been booted out of somewhere and this was were he landed. I mean the large thermos water bottle thing is not cheap... and for some reason he had a new looking toilet snake in the midst of his stuff above him...
I loaded up the grain and he didn't move the whole time. Little did I know but this would be the last trip for the old bed liner from my Toyota.
I wasn't exactly quiet loading the grain and his lack of waking made me think he was likely dosed on something. I headed out for home and to deal with the slew of road construction in the city.
I stopped for gas on the way home and didn't notice the front strap on the bed liner had cut through the plastic.
I backed the trailer into the sheep pen first thing and emptied it out. When I pulled the straps I found the front one had cut through the thinner plastic so I am not able to lash it down as good anymore.
Watched PDC as I got my post done then headed out to get harvests done. The trio gave me the regular amount each.
The cauliflower is infested with cabbage moth worms, you can see the green worms all over.
Nice sized heads that I took to the porch and put into a tub of water to try and kill them all. I will empty the water today and put in vinegar and water which will for sure kill everything.
With the demise of the bed liner I had to setup the other one I have had laying around. The thing was I needed shackles, of which I had one in the shed but the other was still on the tree by the creek from the old zipline. The shackle was well overgrown by the tree and took a good bit to get it removed.
Noppert destroyed Barney in the second round.
@stryeyz took the boys to town and went to Costco and I worked on the bed liner. The shackles got bolted to the front of the liner with a 4 foot long 2x4 on the back. The crossed straps lock the liner in place FAR better than the old one and will keep the liner in much better shape.
There are a couple of slits along the top rear sides and the back one fits a strap to fully lock the liner to the trailer. The liner is also a lot taller than the old so will b=give me more capacity.
The shed work required a bunch of moving of everything away from the end walls so I could then rake it all out and create a space to work.
Later in the day I had R help me as he held the wall out with a lever I pounded in a stake that keeps the door frame from moving inwards.
I was out looking for wood for the wall studs and noticed the sheep were about out of water so I got their tubs all filled, well part way since the dipshit alpaca is always digging her nasty legs into the tubs so the less water at a time the less for her to get shitty dirty.
@stryeyz and I were sitting on the deck when R called for us to come down to the play set where he had a nice barn spider sitting in the middle of her web.
Grilled t-bone steaks for dinner and had potatoes, carrots, and green beans all from our garden.
Went out to turn lights off in sheds and found my gear shed spider plopped in the middle of her web.
I have something jacked up in my back that is causing a stabbing pain in my lower right ear. I can trace the pain into my back so at least I am pretty sure it's not an ear infection. Hurts still this morning.
I got the motor for the scooter late yesterday so will mess with it today. I have harvests to do first, swap the cauliflower water, PDC finals is on mid morning, I will continue on the shed as chances of rain are out a few days from now, should wash my clothes, I guess I will see what the Seahawks are able to do this evening.

I’m sorry about the bedliner but hooray to that harvest and those steaks! Yum I bought a nice grill. I need to put it together soon, but I have to wait to have a deck built otherwise it’s gonna get all damaged.
So you bought your new place I would presume? Our deck and pergola was one of the better additions I have done to our place. We got a Blackstone this year and after I hooked it up to our natural gas it has been incredible to cook with. We get our beef from a farm 20 miles north who used to raise bison as well and it is the best beef I have ever had.
Yes! After my move I was staying at a high rise across the ballpark downtown and then decided I needed a house lol
That seems rather extreme considering your house you sold. That's like black to white... I guess it was a kinda shock to the system to force the reset, lol.
Yes, it was nice in the beginning then it became too much lol I have a big house again this time this one has a little bit of a bigger property so it’s gonna be a lot of work
I could never live in a city, the closest I got was Spokane Valley and we lived there a couple years before buying our place. For us that was insane since we both grew up really rural.
A labor of love is a much nicer feeling than of necessity and I'm sure you will make your new place a wonderland. If you have the space a small greenhouse would make you a very happy panda.
Your new place is no where near as bright as your old, in a good way as it looks more of a natural background.
Oh it’s about to be brighter lol
