It was about mid morning yesterday when I got outside to start working. J was home sick and I was feeling like I had been run over from the water line fiasco. It had been cold overnight but not for long enough to fully freeze the loose soil. It took about 20 minutes to finish the back filling and leveling.
After noon I went for a hike up the hill and then did a loop of the fence line. I found a few spots where something had been digging at the base of the fence but no major entry points were made. Our bald eagles are back and making a hell of a racket as they screech and bitch at each other.
The handle on our biggest splitting maul had broken at he head and I had a new handle waiting to be put in. The insanely difficult part was getting the wedges removed to allow me to pound the old handle piece out of the head. I fought with it for a while but finally managed to get it out.
I had to take off a ton of the handle end to get it to fit in the maul.
Really happy to have this beast back in action as it is the best splitting maul I've used. It's a 10 to 12 pounder with a really nice shape that is obviously likely as old as the house. They aren't made like this one anymore.
My whole day was spent fighting off the pain and finally I gave in mid afternoon and took a muscle relaxer which eventually did help. It was about 5pm when the blower motor arrived and I was soon out at my truck replacing the old one that sounded like a turbine due to the dead bearings. The new one is SILENT.
Nice and easy, just pop out the glove box, remove the power plug, 3 screws and it was out. Putting the new one in was just as easy. For $50 I got the after market blower and air filter where a Toyota branded one would have been $150-$400+. The same blower is used in 20+ years of Toyota vehicles so I'm more than fine with the aftermarket.
Made dinner, watched the Sunday evening anime shows, got ore prints going through the printer, then ended up out soaking by 8pm. I only got a half hour as I was falling asleep fast.
This morning I'll get the boys to school then I have my VERY MUCH NEEDED chiro appointment. I FINALLY have the tracking number for my S19!!!! FINALLY!!!! That means I need to get the 220v power and the cat5 fixed into the greenhouse. I made the lid riser for the printer and hope to put it together if I have the right length screws, and should split some more wood.
