I was up at my normal early time yesterday which gave me some hours of quiet before the melee ensued. It was 4:30am so I got dressed and headed out to the highway to pickup the signs while there was no traffic around. I then spent part of the quiet time getting a print going that I have been anxious to do for a while now. With the printer in the pantry I could get it running first thing without waking anyone. It ended up taking 7 hours to finish and in the end I'm not going to get to try it for a while as I need to work on the rifle it will go on.
It was 8am when the boys began digging into their gifts. Nicely R has developed the routine of being the paper picker upper from various birthday parties so it translates to home and Christmas. It kept the living room from turning to a pile of paper and cardboard.
The morning was fairly mellow while the boys played their games and after noon the print finally finished. It came out quite nicely and is rather large. It slides onto the end of the 10/22 barrel and locks around the front sight.
We were hoping for it to actually snow for us on Christmas day but alas all we got was rain.
With the rain floating around I went out to get the fire going in the pit earlier in the day to make damned sure I would have coals for grilling in the evening.
We had Christmas shows on all the rest of the day but Grumpus the cat wasn't having any of it as he spent his day sleeping on our bed.
I'm very excited about my second print. This one screws onto the end of my 10/22 barrel. Both were made from ABS and I printed with 50% fill in hopes of it being strong enough.
I ran a drill bit down the center to clean it up and open it a hair. It looks straight and true inside and I am super anxious for the light today so I can test it out. I will be setting up a barrier between me and it on the first shots in case it grenades off the end, (though I'm doubting that will happen). Since I was a kid I've wanted one and now I can just print it out! No one can give me a good reason why these are NOT standard on all weapons, just fear mongering.
At dark I got the fire built up in the pit and we all piled in the car and headed a few miles south to the regular neighborhoods we go for our yearly Christmas light drives around. Nicely just 3 miles south was the best display I have seen in our years in Spokane.
They had a solid acre of area setup with the lights display and had the radio station to tune to.
Rudolph's head moved, they had gentle music playing from the train, the icicle lights on the trees were for sure installed by reach-all judging by the top of them being the same height, the highest the reach all could go.
Not sure how much was professionally installed but much of it looked like it would have been.
We headed south some more and wound through the neighborhood checking out the various houses lights. There were a number of nice setups but fewer big displays compared to other years.
I ended up driving the same way home and we stopped back by the big display to check it out some more. These 3 pics are from south to north side by side. Hell of a lot of lights!
3 minutes later and we were back home and I was building the fire back up to have it hot enough to grill our burgers for dinner.
It's ALWAYS that wayward dart! When I stop thinking about my grip and just throw I get into a solid rhythm and they fly pretty consistently, but the hard part is stepping out of the way and just throwing.
Watched some of the last season of Mrs Maisel as we are nearly done, finally. Then made it out to soak for nearly an hour finally.
Woke to rain again this morning but it has moved on. Will be a windy day and I'm going to test out my new 10/22 tool, Utd will get beaten up in their match, Seahawks play this evening, I've got more prints to do, then will do burgers again for dinner tonight.

Hope you’re having an awesome Christmas!😊
No white Christmas here… Just rain 😅
I've been trying to figure out what the signs you collected were for....
I collect them. I've used them for all kinds of projects around the farm. Good metal sheet has oodles of uses.
Ahhh, ok, now it makes sense.
