Harvests, Batch 87 Started, Built Wing Yoke, THE MOTOR LIVES, Grilling - Friday

Yesterday morning was a bit later as R needed a bit more time before he went to school. So at 9am I got him to school then once home I headed out to the garden to pick anything that was ready. The cucumbers only had a handful (16) and I need to get 40 of them picked by Monday morning to fulfill the order I have.

Part of my morning was also spent trying to get my Bitbay wallet working. I finally managed to get the chain syncing but it is 24 hours later and the chain is only to 90%. It looks to take another 24 hours and then I have to rescan my wallet...

The squash ended up over 20 pounds but that was largely thanks to the seed squash I had let grow.

Super stoked to finally have a program that stops the forced Windows updates. Also a program that removes all the back doors and information leaks from the shitty O/S. I highly recommend you find

novirusthanks win update stop

and

O and O Shutup

I had a forced update trying to install on the next restart of my computer and I installed these, then crossed my fingers and restarted my computer. Worked like a charm and the update is locked out now. Also removed all the Cortana garbage.

I had the idea and again it worked great. When the boys got home from school I asked them to fill the freeze dryer trays with tomato so we could get another batch running. In exchange for them doing it I told them they could have "digital time" playing on their NES Switches. I was then able to get outside for other tasks.

They did a great job, made a mess, but got all the trays filled and were playing their games by 3:45. I gave them till 5 but they got a bit longer.

So I was doing some serious thinking on how the hell I was going to make a yoke to hold the wings up on the plane. The problem being that I need something that will not rotate when a wing is set on it. I was trying a part from one of the cafeteria tables that just wasn't seeming to want to work when I looked down at the book am saw the hole for the front of the horizontal stabilize. The pipe of the legs fit in the hole almost perfectly and I had my solution. I pulled the pipe that I had holding the tail of the plane up and after removing the end cap it slid perfectly through. I then went to the tool shed and drilled 2 holes for the captive bolts.

This was a major issue that I had been trying to figure out the solution to so this took a huge weight off my mind. I added pipe insulation to each side for the wings to sit on and installed it in the tail.

This is the perfect solution to my problem.

I used clevis pins as the captive bolts to hold the yoke in place but to allow for easy removal when I go to set the wings up.

So then I had to find out so I backed it out of the hangar and kicked the engine on. It started up just fine then after a bit of rough running it warmed up and idled a bit high. I then mashed the throttle a number of times trying to get the motor to rev up but it just kept bogging down before 3000 RPM. Then in a sudden burst and a pop whatever the clog in the fuel system was let go and the engine suddenly was purring along at over 4000 RPM. I was ecstatic. Then after @styryez got home from work we went out and I started it up again to have the clog again but this time it popped out sooner and I got the engine spun up to 6000 RPM for the first time. That is just shy of cruising RPM!

Since there is still the slight stick in the fuel system I need to pull the jets from the cabs and give them a cleaning. I am so close to getting it out on the runway....

It was late when I got the steaks grilled so we had a later than normal dinner. The fire was nice though in the now cool evenings.

Managed an hour soak before heading inside. I have an order I am prepping for bolts for the plane and also the clear coat for the wing repair.

I have no clue today. Winds look good for paragliding but I am not seeing anyone talking yet about a place. I have the carb work to do, more harvests, farm cleanup, Man Utd will likely lose again today, and if I don't go flying I am going to pull the pane out of the hangar and do a setup and tear down to make sure I have all the bolts to put it together.

I love how you are giving the boys some tasks to do
It won't make them lazy and they will be able to do one or two things

Agreed! We are very blessed that sometimes they even enjoy helping. Smashing tomatoes is fun for them, so that helps. Utilize our strengths when we can, right? 😁
