What we thought were his dying breaths were NOT. The rattle was there and everything but that wasn't his end. The tenacity of a being to hold onto the threads of life is astounding. We made sure to spend as much time as he would allow with him and kept him nice and comfortable on the bed.
When I had woke up in the am I walked out to find the printer filled with string and I was stupid lucky the nozzle didn't go all elephant man on me. I got the print started over with the proper settings as I had tried to slow it down to quiet it down over night... asshat idea. So I got the print going again in the morning and it came out fine this time.
The day was focused on Kahlua and getting the can dispenser printed out. I ended up doing a dumbass move and printed a part twice but in the end it worked out as I was able to use it later in the day for the pint can dispenser build.
It was nice and sunny, quite cold, and a little windy during the day. But I was inside cuz fuck that. We had the inauguration on to see the hoopla and insanity. Orange man got out oranged by RFK... lol. This is going to be a crazy 4 years I bet.
The Kraken played a home game at 1pm!?!? It ended up being a great game for them.
I'm falling into tears at random moments as I'm trying to write this. It's just shitty. 2 weeks shy of 8 years from Rocky dying. I thought it was 9 but it's 8 as @stryeyz reminded me this morning as we cried over his dead body.
They managed to win with a nice empty net goal at the end to solidify it. At least they are showing some better form now.
So that extra piece I made did come in handy. I don't really care that it's opposite color, the function works as this one is for the White Claw and pint cans. I had to make the spacer 1.75" wide to fit the cans while the 16oz cans need a .25" spacer. I made a smaller version as well for the 8oz soda cans the boys like.
My ice climbers on the solar curtain. At some point I want to make a cool ice wall for them to be on.
Tried some "carabiner" type things and found they don't scale, but are useful. The 3 larger are the non scaled and they all work once broken loose. Things are rather strong able to hold 50+ pounds.
I went out to soak for a bit before heading in to bed.
This morning we woke to find Kahlua dead. He had walked out the dog door and died outside in the 20F cold under the carport where he spent much of his time. I'm just straight up sad, and keep falling into fits of crying. He knew to go outside where it would be quick and he wasn't too far that we couldn't find him. I have to go dig today and I REALLY hope that I'm given soft ground, it was similar when Rocky went so my hope is that it will dig as easily now.
This shit fucking sucks.

Losing a pet is tough. I feel for ya.
Thankfully the dirt was soft and easy to dig. It was the exact same for Rocky 8 years ago, same temps, and the ground got easier to dig the deeper I got.
