-3F yesterday morning before dawn. I'm presuming the last gasp of a very short winter considering it warmed up dramatically overnight. It was rather chilly in the house which required a fire first thing.
First print off was the seed starting thing. It allows for germinating seeds in rows to keep them segregated by type. Figured it could come in handy.
-4F after the sun came up.
But this is what the forecast shows... 37F is likely NOT snow for us.
I made a second cuz why not.
Really happy with the HSW panels and parts. I was able to change out our keys rack which was an old wood box type thing. This is way cleaner, has tons more room, and is extendable if I need.
PDC was on and what a show. Little was down 4 sets to 1 in the opening match and ended up coming back to beat Cross.
With the HSW panels printed I wanted to make some of the connectors. These work well for coupling panels together as they can also accept parts.
It was a repeat of the world finals and Littler won the night.
I was scrolling headlines and found one about an aircraft carrier hitting a merchant vessel in the mid east and it is out of Norfolk Naval yard which I then had to go look at on gogle maps. As I was looking at the various docks I saw this submarine at one but then 2 SUBMERGED ships near the aft end.
WTF IS THAT!?
There is one perpendicular to the tail of the sub then another one parallel with the sub but off the aft end of the submerged perpendicular ship!!! WTF is this!?
The water line at the coop was frozen despite my attempts to thaw it over the day, so I came up with a rather clever means of filling the animal waters. I backed my truck up by the house and tossed a pair of half barrels in the back. I filled them with water then drove over to the pen.
I backed into the pen and was able to tip the barrels over right into the water trough.
There was enough left for me to fill the bird water as well. This was WAY WAY WAY easier than hauling the 70 gallons by hand or by garden cart. Necessity is the mother of invention.
I made an error trying to print the gray panel. It kept borking and when I looked I realized I had it set as PET but it's PLA. The quick fix had it printing just fine then.
We all headed up to the school for STEM night and of course R had to climb the snow mound next to the truck.
School provided food which we hit first.
Both boys had a blast at all the various stations and I got into some good conversations regarding our local environment and geology.
The best part in my and J's mind was Spokane Community College with the pneumatics setup. I took the class years ago and still have my binders on the shelf from it. It all came back to me in an instant and I could work through the entire system easily. Trade school programs are outstanding!
We got home in time to watch the 4 nations USA vs Finland game at the start of the second period. It was 1-1 for most of it but the US got a goal at the end of the period to go into the break at 2-1 and a powerplay to start the 3rd.
WOW! 2 goals in 11 seconds to start the 3rd period.
The destroyed Finland 6-1 and both Tcachuk brothers had 2 goals each. Super cool to see them playing together on the same team.
It had been cloudy much of the afternoon and the forecast keeps saying snow but there really wasn't anything congealed enough to drop anything worthwhile on us. Even this morning there is barely a few flakes on the deck.
Out to soak for a while but the skin is flaring again.
Last print for the day was the pair of baskets. Took a ton of time due to the mesh sides.
30 degrees warmer this morning but still just below 32F and snowing ever so lightly. Boys are off school for the long weekend, the printer is going all day, R has an appointment in town this afternoon we will go to, and then likely dinner out.

Do you suppose the boys will eventually want to go to trade school, or pursue higher education? I remember a certain cultural stigma for trade school and community college as a youth, but my dad got a career out of trade school, and I may not have pursued a lofe-long career from my community college degree, but I have no debt from it either, and I may yet return to drafting.
I would rather they go to a trade school unless they show a definitive aptitude in one area that would need a university level degree or access to their equipment. J's seeming most likely to have the capacity for advanced level education at this point but that could change in the next years.
