It was 7am yesterday when we headed out to the first wrestling tournament of the season well south of Spokane. It was a 40 ish minute drive down to Freeman and we managed to get a parking spot kind of close to the school.
We had to be there early enough to get a spot in the bleachers but then it is the interminable wait for each match that R was to be in.
It was rather unorganized in that R did not have a coach for his first match but he ended up getting the win in just about 30 seconds. I watched from the bleachers as he wrestled in the far corner mat while @stryeyz was rooting him on from mat side.
It was seriously long waits between matches and he won his first, lost his second, won the third, then lost the fourth match to place fourth. There was tons of good learning happening and he watched the videos of his matches once we were home. All the coaches have their eyes on him and he has serious potential we just have to get him to be MUCH more present and less spastic.
The key for me is to get him to understand using the hands on the head FAR more to direct the opponent and not diving head first for a single or double leg. All in time and practice.
We got home well after 2pm and I was exhausted from being in the crowded environment. It's really exhausting all the chaos, noise, and mind numbing waiting....
I checked in on all the various sports things from the day and saw the Kraken won by a good margin and are playing the Caps today.
@stryeyz and I went down to the studio for a drink and I saw the avocado plants are LOVING the grow light. The things have some really nice looking leaves and the canopy is getting rather wide.
Olive drab dummy parts finally. I'm needing to build stock up of various colors for later in the year and craft fairs. I have a list of things that I can print and sell.
The latest Elon interview on Rogan was incredible. The work that he is doing with DOGE is vitally important for the country and he is very aware that he is putting himself in the sights of a lot of people who have no qualms about killing him.
It's very interesting watching Elon's mind work. I can see him looking at the images in his mind as he tries to describe it in layman's terms. It's the same way my mind works and it is rather obvious when I see someone else similar. Too bad I didn't grow up with a diamond mining family....
I had perked up a bit in the afternoon with the beer but was feeling the day for sure as it got later. I got the second set printed out before we headed out to soak. Poor R had knocked out for the entire evening he was so worn out but he managed to sleep last night.
Soaked for a while then headed to bed well worn out. The fucking time change is bullshit and I am so ready for this garbage to end. At least I am back on normal time now since I was waking at 3:30am regularly, the extra hour will be nice.
PDC is on, Man Utd will be obliterated by Arsenal, I know how to get the timing cover off and will work on that this morning, stupid weather is inbound all week with possible snow, Kraken play at noon, the printer is going already, and who knows what else today.
