Woke up early yesterday morning on the river. There were a bunch of boats motoring down stream at 6am meaning they put in at 5am in Lincoln, which is some dedication. We were packed up and had the sailboat on the water heading back to the launch before 6:30am.
There were some clouds about and a pretty solid wind which had the temps a bit cooler. We headed for the north side of the river and puttered along and stared at the immense amount of climbable rock littering the hillside.
We then motored across to the point to check out the rock walls around it which come straight out of the water as well. From there we sailed up river for a while until the wind died and we had to motor the rest of the way in to dock.
The parking area was STUFFED with empty trailers and more people were arriving as we pulled the boat from the water.
As I headed out for home I got a picture of the DALEK standing guard over the river. It is a part of the old mill that was there and looks just like the Dr Who villains.
I headed east on highway 2 which took me right past Fairchild AFB which is having Skyfest this weekend. The cars were backed up from the base entrance to the Spokane Tribe casino round about which is over a mile. Thankfully we had no desire to go and to deal with that kind of mess.
I was home by 11:30am and got the truck unpacked and all me gear put away quickly then showed the family the pictures from the adventure. I then looked and saw that the PDC was on and it was Barney who beat the world number 1 to go to the 3rd round for the first time this year.
The garlic were looking a bit dry so I took the hose and watered down the rows really well. SO MANY WEEDS TO PULL....!!
I got my clothes washed mid afternoon and wow did my hat need it after the excessive sweating I did in the heat of the days.
We have rutabagas that are getting large enough so I pulled 5 of them which with the greens weighed 9 pounds.
We even got our first ripe tomato from the greenhouse.
Got out to soak after a very much needed shower then was to bed at normal time.
This morning the PDC is on again and will finish mid day, Barney's match is coming on next. I have so many weeds to pull and cut, weedeating that needs done, the tomatoes need to be tied in the greenhouse, then hopefully grill for dinner tonight.
