Quite pleased to wake to the prints yesterday morning and they were quite nice looking. I was a bit concerned due to height and I have some leveling to do now that more has printed off. Despite the self leveling there is still the front right is low and shows on the taller prints.
The storm hit but was shit all all day. I woke to my back being super sore, minor movements would try to seize me up but I managed to relax out of them. It was a bad omen for my day and combined with the shit weather it portended my day.
We didn't get snow we got slush. Half an inch of crap that surprisingly hung on for a while. I expected it to be gone by noon but the real rains started later.
You can see the snow level up there a couple hundred feet elevation... But not on the farm.
This came out pretty damn cool. A mini #3dprinted didgeridoo. AND IT WORKS!!! First try it sounds not bad for the size and materials (pla). The mouthpiece even works well and I got tone right away. It's pretty slick for sure.
This was how it looked all day long.... slush/rain/ice pellets/rain.
PDC masters is on and some solid matches played. The short format is rough for some players but works well for others.
Screwed up and forgot to scale the stand so had to remake it larger. Tried the harmonica but the reeds are shite.
The finished Delta II rocket model.
All glued and standing on the main engine it is 26.5 inches tall and badass looking. I'm really pleased with how it came out and right away got started on the Delta IV Heavy model. I was able to scale this one up 174% the max I could fit on the printer. The Heavy only can do 120% so it won't be near as big.
The scaled stand.
Then the parts for the Heavy started to come off in black before I swapped out for the orange filament later.
Had to empty the ashes in the fireplace before I could get the fire going later in the day. With the new combustor in the fireplace the wood is burning a lot better now and more completely. Makes the ash emptying fewer now.
I swapped to orange filament and began the prints. I did the smallest parts first before going to the main parts.
All afternoon it rained. Rained more, then spit ice, then rained through till night.
We watched the new Tom Green documentary which is astonishing to remember how influential he was in creating the type of media we have today. If it wasn't for him reality tv would not be what it ever was. He created podcasts, Jackass is because of him, Eric Andre, Joe Rogan, and SO SO SO many took cues from him. Then we watched his comedy special before heading out to soak once the rain had finally stopped.
Once back inside this was how far the print was when I turned the light off inside and went to bed. Thankfully they printed ok.
Still sore this morning, will get printer going with gray for the next parts, PDC is on, no weather today, J wants to go to his friends' basketball game this morning, I have to try and move the hay cage if it is unfrozen from the ground, then the Kraken will play this evening.
