The worlds are ongoing for PDC and I had both sessions on during the morning yesterday. The real surprise was when the host country Germany lost to N. Ireland, who then lost to England this morning.
The boys had one of their friends over for the morning while his mom and sisters went on a bike ride in Spokane. He wanted "guy time" which consisted of them watching a movie then playing on the Switches. They had a blast though.
I finally took the time to haul the boxes of potatoes up to deal with them. It looked like the invasion of the tendrils. Every single potato had sprouted and some of the sprouts were over 2 feet long.
It took me a while to get them all yanked off the spuds and piled in the wheelbarrow. I nearly filled the wheelbarrow...
Which left me with a boat load of now soft potatoes. I found some that were still nice and solid which I kept out for dinner. The bulk of the spuds are still edible as long as we hack off some of the soft outer to get to the more solid innards.
I pushed the wheelbarrow out to by the sheep pen where I have dumped TONS of spent grain. I scraped some aside and laid down a ton of the tendrils then somewhat covered them with the sloppy grain. I have no clue what will happen. I will be planting the 3 rows that I pulled the spinach from with spuds and then likely any open spots in the garden.
R has a pet rooster. This is one of the group that are as old as the turkeys and he is rather mellow of a bird. R hauled him all over the farm and dude just chilled in his arms.
I got the fire going in the pit after 4pm and then took the pry bar to the stump and hauled off a nice chunk of SUPER pitchy wood.
The decomposing wood at the base has a really cool color and look to the rings.
The pitch laden piece went on the fire and exploded in flames as the pitch caught fire.
The fire was going nice and hot and this damselfly flitted all around me and landed on the top of the poker handle. It let me get some nice shots of it gloriously glowing iridescence. Damselflies and dragonflies are incredibly aware seeming insects. They will sit and watch and you can watch their heads moving around as they take things in.
The Columbine is still flowering and putting out some really nice flowers.
It was steak night and the tenderloin pieces came out delectable.
UFC 303 was on and it was a rather stacked card. The most amazing part was Dan Ige fighting on 4 hours notice and going to a decision after 3 rounds. It was a catchweight fight at 165 and Dan was getting a massage when his phone blew up asking if he wanted the bout. Just badass and it's good he was already in a camp so he was in shape and mentally mostly ready. I wish Jiri would have won the title fight.
Got out to soak for just a cycle then headed for bed.
PDC finishes this morning, England hopefully gets destroyed in the Euros, we have a chance of rain as it is pretty cloudy this morning, I have plenty of tasks to work on around the farm and likely some produce to harvest, then this evening will grill something for dinner.

Loved the damselfly and the columbine shots. :))
Potatoes are amazing, how they sprout and send out tendrils.
