Our day of sunshine yesterday morning started nicely. It's been quite rare for the glowy yellow thing to show its face the past weeks and all the forecast calls for is "patchy fog and mostly cloudy skies"... Of course.
I have a project to print out the stick figures in 4 different colors. I started with the light pink color and proceeded to attempt the print numerous times. Each time I killed the print when I saw the filament screwing up on the bed. It was too gloppy and stringy and would lay clean. I tried the print 6 times before giving up and trying the hot pink.
Hockey day and the Boston Florida game was a pretty boring game most of it, until the very end of the game.
Right after the Kraken game came on and it started off in a standard fashion of them going down a goal right away.
So the hot pink one actually printed correctly. I found later that I fucked up the whole project by resizing the dude which caused the parts to fit too loose when done...
So this is the color PLA I have. It is really just samples, 250g spools.
In all the fighting I ended up finding that the filament works best at 240C nozzle, 60C bed, and I went in and dropped the flow rate for the filament from .95 to .8 which seems to be the real fix.
I then put the light pink back in and managed to get a good print. The problem being was the pieces did not fit, all too loose. So today I will take what I learned yesterday and try to get them all printed out without scaling.
Seconds before the end of the 2nd period the Kraken tied the game at 2-2.
They came out of the locker room for the 3rd period and went on a tear.
In the end they won 6-2 on 6 unanswered goals in a row. Far cry from their last game.
R wanted to watch the Matrix so that went on right afterwards.
Found the Dummy 13 model and got a couple sets printed out. These things are pretty damned slick and have quite a few pieces to each one. They are very articulated and stand in all kinds of positions.
There are 3 different hands for each and I'll be printing a bunch more of these as the boys both want.
I can just hear the tiny voice screaming, "FALCOR!!!!"...
Out to soak a bit later and skin fights back again.
Today I will get the printer going again soon and hopefully won't have a major fight on my hands today thanks to the lessons of yesterday. Man Utd are going to get DESTROYED by Arsenal, house needs cleaning, the Kraken play Detroit this afternoon, and we'll harp on the boys about cleaning their rooms.

Amazing what these 3-D printers can accomplish looks like they are a little bit finicky figuring out the correct filament….🤔
