I didn't wake to the rain yesterday morning but it soon was falling and it didn't take too long for it to get pretty heavy. It looked on the doppler like it wouldn't be that big of a storm but as the day wore on it became apparent we were getting a drenching.
In prep for testing when I have a window of no rain... I got a decibel meter app for my phone that I will try using for comparisons. Hopefully I can calibrate it well enough it will handle to levels needed.
The PDC matches are getting better as they go farther in the rounds. Doetz managed a sever comeback to win his match but couldn't do it against Dobey this morning.
This was the state of the farm all day long.... soaked, drenched, swamped...
High 30s F all day meant it was a trouncing of rain. WEN SNOW!?!?
The entire Palace was behind Ricky Evans in his match but he just couldn't get it done against Owens. The crowds play a big part in the PDC and have pushed numerous players past the line.
It was time to take the tree down. It takes up a lot of space and resists the attempts to clean around it. I got started yanking the decorations off before the boys got up to give me a hand. Before too long it was cleaned of all added items and got set on the deck.
The storm ended up swirling around right over the inland northwest for the entire day. Watching the doppler the damned thing was sitting over us in rotation, barely moving to the east.
I made it down to the studio to water the plants and to my surprise found that I have a pepper growing on the plant I transplanted out of the greenhouse! I'm rather amazed at the fact it has continued growing and am a bit hopeful I can get it through the next months. I would love to plant it back in the greenhouse.
Got our first r/c controller for the battlebot builds. Nicely it takes an 18650 cell which I have 100s of. The receiver is a bit big for the fairy weight bots but will work okay on the ant weight. First off will just be making them move but need escs first.
In an astonishing turn Peter Wright beat Luke Humphries the defending champ! It was a true shocker to most and amazing that Wright managed these wins with a chest infection!
With the tree gone it opened up the floor a lot and allowed room to finally do a good cleaning.
Had the #3dprinter going all day and got the fan fittings for the S19 printed, tried out one of the bag clips which came out great, then J made a snowball maker (2 half circles he squishes together to make the ball). I need to get the vises printing in ABS but need to move the printer again for that.
More episodes of Disenchantment for the evening as the storm swirled and kept up the intensity.
I got a text from one of the brewers I have worked with before and he has moved back downtown and will have grain for me again. I'm happy to have had the year off from the masses of grain and am needing to have the extra for the garden and the animals. Tomorrow morning I will go get it.
We got out to soak as the storm was broken and the rain was coming in waves and batches but gave us a bit of mostly dry.
Stupid storm has it's dingleberries dragging along behind it this morning and is just now moving away to the east fully. We get today and tomorrow dry then the next system moves in for days of more rain. I slept for utter dog shit last night despite my watch telling me otherwise so today will be interesting. PDC is on today, Man Utd will get destroyed by Newcastle, Kraken play this evening, I have to get the trailer ready for grain in the morning, move printer and start prints, and force the boys into room cleaning.
Oh and I will hit all my Year End goals tomorrow morning and once the HBD interest pays and my post pays. Not sure I am going to do the daily tally for the next year and might just do once a week.
