Slow day yesterday as we were all super tired following the busy prior day. After the overnight deluge of rain I woke to .5 inch in the gauge, AGAIN. Now thanks to the sporadic rains during the day and last night we have our wettest month in 5+ years.
The PDC was on for finals day so I had that on during the morning.
Until Man Utd's match started but as per their usual they shit the bed and looked like amateurs against a team they should have beat. It really is fitting that they have turned into the garbage club they are.
We were given the morning of no rain but I could see the dark to the west and after checking the doppler knew I had about an hour before it hit.
It came down to the Lukes in the final and Humphries ended up winning.
The disc cone antenna is now down and I did a bunch of reading on how to make it tuned for a frequency but may just leave it as is and see if it will be okay for the mesh.
I went on a hunt around the farm for hte materials to make my antenna and I finally found what I had been searching for. The old aluminum tent poles will work PERFECTLY for the elements. I need 3 pieces per element and can cut them to length. I will have to see what will work best to keep the pieces together. I just need to come up with the boom now.
I was right and about 1pm the rains hit but over the day did not amount to too terribly much.
The Seahawks played in the afternoon and they had a great game beating the Cardinals and moving to first in the division. Only 6-5 but finally back into positive record numbers.
As it got dark the other parts of the storms moved in and rained on us some more but again it was not super hard, just steadily drizzling.
Got the T190 setup on #meshtastic but today I have to get the channels set right and likely re-flash the lot to try and get them all talking together which has been a bit hard to make happen all the time. Seems one or two always get a hangup somewhere.
Some numbers for YAGI design. I'm trying to decide which dimensions set to go by... I have too many at this point and need to sift them down to the most likely to work right. Also need to find my boom today which I would like to have be aluminum as well.
We headed out to soak way earlier as we were quite tired. The rain was steadily drizzling still and kept on into the night. It moved off sometime early this morning but we have a bit moving over right now.
My 3d printer should arrive this morning sometime, I'll get the boys to school, I'm still pretty sore and woke to my jaw again this morning, I have the antenna mast to finish taking down, boom to find, setup printer, wash my clothes, maybe work on the wood cutting/hauling/splitting etc... and then keep learning to use FreeCad. Just signed up for #sota so I will be able to start making contacts once I can build my antennas.
