Welcome homesteaders, and homestead-curious!
It is with great pleasure that I bring to you this first Highlights edition for the Homesteading community on Hive! As you may have seen in this announcement, these compilation posts are encouraged by our OCD supporters as a way to encourage visibility, engagement, and membership in the community.
Speaking of our OCD supporters, they will be hosting a contest for the community in the very near future, so look for that announcement if you have your eyes on some extra rewards!
In these posts, I intend to highlight quality posts that (for a variety of reasons) got skipped over for a big upvote, and they will be made beneficiaries of the rewards on this post. I will also showcase some work by our frequent contributors, and they will also be beneficiaries. For now, I intend to post these on a bi-weekly basis. I'm already getting this first one out the door a day later than I anticipated, and there is a VERY high likelihood that I'll be late with at least 3 more of these as time goes on!
What we missed
For our inaugural highlight of missed posts, I'd like to show off a couple by some relative newcomers to our Homesteading community.

Those that shine
For this first edition of our Highlights, I would like to draw your attention to a couple contributors that you're probably already paying attention to.
@goldenoakfarm is new to our Homesteading community, but has been a daily contributor to Hive for some time now. She posts about the day-to-day chores of working and managing her homestead, and her blog is an absolute treasure trove of information. She is warm and receptive to questions and comments, and I think many will share my joy at having her as part of our community!
@astrizak has been one of our most prolific, and possibly our most undervalued contributor for quite a while now. His blog displays a dizzying array of skills, and I've spent more than one evening binging on its informative contents. Every day I look forward to another glimpse at his enviable homestead.
I'm afraid that I don't have links to, or pictures from, any of the posts from these top notch contributors. There is no lack of quality to choose from, I simply lack the time. Their work cannot be missed on the Homesteading Community page.
In other news...
Some of you may be wondering who I am, and why I'm doing this. I'm @paradoxtma, and I'm doing this because I had an opportunity to try growing the Homesteading community, and I thought that it would be a worthwhile endeavor. Our community creator, @jacobpeacock, has passed the reigns (and the community posting key) on to me, and I'm hoping I can use them to get us Hivean Homesteaders some more membership, recognition, and rewards.
In pursuit of those goals, I'm happy to accept help from anyone who has any to offer. If any of you are whizzes at graphic design, I would love a few things to spruce up these, and the announcement posts. If any of you know any people who would make good contributors to the community, please invite them. If anybody wants to help but doesn't know how, @ me, or drop me a comment anywhere. I'll think of something for you :D
Another thing I'll be doing through this is trying to grow this community account a bit, so we can have a little voting weight in the community itself. I expect that this will take time, but if any of you want to list the Homesteading community as a beneficiary on your posts, or delegate us any Hive Power that you're not making use of, that would be much appreciated and could significantly speed the process along.

Sorry it took so long to reply. I do not regularly check this account, and it doesn't have a lot of resource credits, so I can only post a few things when I check it.
Thank you for the commendation! With any luck, I'll be able to grow the community to the point that it no longer needs me!
As I mentioned, if you have an aptitude for graphic design, the community could REALLY use some custom artwork that stands out. Nothing crazy, but a good banner or two for the Highlights posts, some line separator graphics, things like that.
Other than that, just encourage people to bring relevant content to the community. A good 'brand ambassador' can do wonders for bringing people in!
