Adventures In Homesteading (Day 177)

Hello Everyone!

Staying on track, Fixing the glitchy phone, An underwhelming adventure, Hunkering down indoors & The compost mound is getting big!

Alright, I am on time with my writing routine again... which is pretty nice considering that my mundane daily routines are generally what helps keep me on an even keel the most. Between that and getting another full night's sleep... I am beginning to feel like I am actually making some kind of headway with getting my mind 'squared away' so to speak.

Today was another low energy day and I yet again chose to work on technological problems... rather than going outdoors (and at the bare minimum) going on a mushroom hike. This time around I addressed my glitchy phone problem... and after lots of backing up the various forms of data on it... I gave it a good ole factory reset which seemed to do the trick.

The WiFi hotspot feature on it still keeps acting quirky because it randomly stops working... but I am unsure if it is the phone itself... or the WiFi extender/router that I have it connected to. Given that I have no idea where my better routers are stored at amongst all my gear... I will just have to keep coping with the challenges my current setup keeps presenting.

On a different note, I have been thinking about how this entire endeavor at this place has been a total clustercuss... and how out of all my writing series... this one has been 'underwhelming' to say the least. It is also worth noting that I should have spared myself the headache of it all... and just gotten a place closer to where I was living at before even if it was less than ideal.

Anyways, the only thing that I managed to accomplish today (aside from my usual work on relief efforts for the folks inside the WNC DZ) was to get the dog poop cleaned up from inside the temporary dog yard. For the most part, I have somehow managed to stay on top of that particular chore... but during the recent cold snap I did get a little behind on it.

The compost mound that I have been making ever since my arrival here has gotten rather large... but since there have not been many flies I have done very little in the way of sealing it off against them. I guess that if by some massive misfortune I cannot sell this place... and be moved by spring time... I will have to do something about that but for now I just do not feel compelled to address it.

Well, this is going to be another short post... because I just do not have it in me to spell out what I am really thinking about. I hope that everyone is doing well. Ta ta for now.

Eventually I should stop taking pictures of the same trees at sunset!

Might be getting an idea of what's on the mind.

Yeah LOL! Nice catch. Basically contemplating how I can bear staying here that long with all my bad neighbors. This adventure has been pretty horrible considering all I wanted was somewhere to be left alone and live in peace at.

Did a lot of letting life lead the way on a sailing project this fall. It ended up changing my lifestyle a great deal but it feels for the better in my case. Perhaps life will be offering you some interesting options in the near future. Wishing you the best. ✌️😎
