WHAT A WEEK IT'S BEEN!ππ
First of all, our main workhorse at the homestead, Marvin the Ford Ranger, suffered a major meltdown...and it took me a bit to figure out what the heck was going on...
Day one....While backing up, I realized I had no reverse lights, and no brake lights. I found a blown fuse, replaced it, and all seemed good. Then it blew within minutes of me driving again. Oh well, for now, I thought.
Day two....Upon leaving to go to town I discovered my turn signals had quite working. At this point, i thought there must be some type of wiring issue...
I continued on to town and when I arrived at the place I was working for the day, Marvin could not evenake enough power to getup a tiny hill.
WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON, I THOUGHT...
Well, after a couple hours of investigation and diagnostic work, what I discovered is that Marvin's left rear shock tower had rusted through and smashed into the main wiring harness.
*It may be tough to see what is broke here in this picture.
*But here, you can see the resulting damage to the main harness.
*After picking up a new ine, and grinding the old one out, I installed a new one with the supplied bolts.
Then all that was left to do was to replaced a bunch of blown fuses and Marvin was back to her badass self!!!πͺπͺππ₯³ππ
THE DOER'S HAVE A NEW INTEREST!!!
And just what that may be you ask...Well after borrowing a couple of these things from a great beloved friend, we decided we needed to get some of our own...
*KAYAKS!!!
Yep, after one beautiful trip into the converging of the Missouri and Illinois rivers, we were hooked! So, evan is getting one for his birthday, and I'm getting one as well so he can have a kayaking partner. He is getting blue, I want the fire looking orange one.π It's going to be amazing adventures ahead!!!...And we are both super excited!!!π
ALL OUR INSTALLED PANELING HAS BEEN POLYURETHANED AND WATERPROOFED.
This is a big step in the right direction for us to get our final flooring installed.
Our current step up is carpet. But once all the paneling is installed this qinter, and clearcoated we will be installing our water proof flooring.
*It's so shiny and pretty now!
I can't wait to get this phase finished up. And especially to get the flooring in as it is VERY difficult to keep carpet anywhere near remotely clean when living in the middle of a forest.ππ
ATTACK OF THE WOOD BORERS!!!
Our garden has come under attack from some version of a wood borer.
*I think this is a poop pile from them digging into a stalk.
Nice job on diagnosing that Ranger. It can be a real challenge to track that stuff down.
